    Northern Brewers - AWOL?

Great Fermentations will also double crush your grain on request. Great for BIAB. Their double crush is real. Just add the request to double crush to the notes on your order, and they do it. Never had them miss it. This along with the precise grain bill ordering mentioned above means that you...

    My Ward Lab results

Thanks so much for posting, that’s really helpful! I’m reading all I can in my various books about water and styles right now, but I wonder if you could say a bit more about saltiness for gose and sour beers? Do you have a preferred target water profile for those styles? I’ve done a sour and a...

    My Ward Lab results

Missed one of your questions: my water is groundwater that comes from wells drilled into local aquifers, but we are slowly transitioning to surface water. Right now apparently we pull 30% from surface water sources to augment the groundwater. So I’m going to do another test this summer and see...

    My Ward Lab results

Thanks so much, this is really helpful. My first experiments with Brewfather and this new data reinforce exactly what you’re saying. I’ll need a couple of grams of gypsum and calcium chloride to get in range for most styles, and almost every other calculated addition was insignificant compared...

    My Ward Lab results

Thanks for the reply! I did choose that “English Ale” profile from Brewfather as an example of a target with very low sodium. Looking at other ale and porter profiles, I can see that it’s very unusual. So I won’t worry about it. I’m reading now about using lactic acid to reduce alkalinity. I...

    My Ward Lab results

Hi everyone! Just received my Ward Labs analysis and thought I’d get any feedback and general recommendations that you can give. I have been buying distilled water and salting it as needed to hit Brewfather targets. I mostly brew Hefes, ales, porters, and fruited sours and generally love...

    Picnic Tap 2.1

In my experience, it would be virtually impossible to turn on these taps accidentally. They use a rotating knob, the tension is very high, and the action is very deliberate. As someone mentioned, when you turn them off, they seal very tightly (and quickly) and there’s literally no dripping.

    Picnic Tap 2.1

Hey, I have two of these and am about to buy two more! Right now I have 2 corny kegs in the bottom of my kitchen fridge for serving, both with the Picnic Tap 2.1, serving at about 12 psi. They are just perfect. I’m going to grab a chest freezer soon, and I think I’ll start with just these taps...

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

Thanks so much, Thorrak! That's the ticket. I have one, but plan to have two, Tilts so this will be great. I really appreciate what you've done with this easy-ish DIY project for consolidating Tilts and turning them into streams. Thanks again!

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

Yep, thanks - just came back to close the loop on this part. I installed the driver, and am able now to use BrewFlasher. I've tried flashing the v1.1.3 TFT and the 1.1.3 OLED versions. Neither gives me output to the attached screen on the ESP32 device. But, the v1.1.3 OLED version does boot and...

New to the forum from Houston TX

Hi, I'm in SW Houston TX, and am getting back into homebrewing after a long time away. I mean a LONG time away, because it was probably '98 when I last brewed. So many cool new products and techniques! I'm excited to find a new, comfortable workflow and start making some tasty beers.

TiltBridge - Tilt-to-WiFi Device for Tilt Hydrometer

Hi there Thorrak! Thought I'd come here to see if you (or anyone else) can help me. I just bought an ESP32 with a built-in OLED, specifically this one: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DKD79Y9?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Screen printing on the board says it's a HELTEC HTIT-WB32. I...
