    Anchorage, Alaska Keg Acquisition

Good Afternoon All, I recently relocated to Anchorage. I am wondering if the Anchorage Members of HBT could advise me on where they have found decommissioned full size commercial kegs for conversion. As before I would like to acquire legally. Thanks in advance, Scott

    Adhesive for Keezer

+1 on the silicone. We use it to secure down solid surface (eg corian, swanstone etc) It will do the job as well as the liq nails. It will remain flexible but still cure solid enough to "glue" the collar to the base. I happened to have extra tubes of the white 100% silicone so that is...

im hurt and i need to brew

Well right now i think im lucky. i was told that of all bones to break, the patella is a good one. I guess this was a good thing. Apparently i tore the retinaculum as i subluxed while still in the air. the muscles compensated and the patella sheared into pieces. i thought i fractured from...

Monster mill cordless drill driver or AC motor drive?

yeah i bought the 7lb hopper and the base. I am a finish carpenter by trade. I could have and would have enjoyed making the hopper myself. For the price, i couldnt pass up the convienience. I wanted to assemble it and start a grain bill and get brewing. I have a bunch of solid surface drops...

Good Morning. I recieved my monster mill 2.0 a couple of days ago. I have it put together and i bought feeler gauges last night. I ran a cup full of barley through the thing to help knock off the metal shavings etc. nice crush! i am impressed. I have been reading various posts and i plan...

    secondary regulators

So i have read about the secondaries and how folks like to step down. I keep soda water on tap, i want force carb capability, and of course serving pressure. My question is: has anyone used compressor type regulators for the secondary? I know typical air regs for compressors are high...

    Filtered beer question

Good Afternoon All, i had been doing some reading on the filtering of homebrew. I did a raspberry ale and had it in the secondary for 2 weeks. Good smells, good taste while flat. I wasnt clearing the raspberry leavins at 2 weeks as fast as i would like. I know that if i had waited longer...

    new mash tun copper manifold.

no issues so far with bumping around. when i used the cutter to make the sections i did not clean them up other than obvious debris. ( i didnt use extra tools like i was sweating for a plumbing connection ) There must be enough roughness to still keep enough friction to hold all those pieces...

    new mash tun copper manifold.

No i just dry fit mine together. I have the square cooler. So i first decided to just do the square set up and a "t" linked to the ball valve. Not being satisfied i only did one all grain and then got more "t"s and sections so i have 3 longer runs, 2 med runs, 6 short runs, 5 "t"s and 4...

Thank you Paul. i found the diagram. I had just done a quick look online and found other controls that already had the plug ins. When she told me it had none i panicked. I was in and out of meetings and thought i would be in for a mess tonight. I dont get shipping as cheap or as fast as you...

    johnson A419abc-1

Hello all, i did a brief search but didnt find what i was looking for. I called a local controls store and told the salesman that i would be using a chest freezer for a keezer. He said they had the johnson A419abc-1 in stock in fairbanks. I am doing this over the phone and while i am supposed...

    new mash tun copper manifold.

Yes, they make brew life a bit better at this budget stage. I liked the ball valve on the regulation of flow. My mash was for an imperial stout. I understand about the acidity of the mash and why it removed the oxidation from the manifold. I just am wondering if a petina forms that stays...

    new mash tun copper manifold.

Hello All. So i built myself a 1/2" copper manifold for my square mlt this weekend. I was excited to try this instead of my old braided stainless set up. Construction went well. I soaked the new manifold in some oxyclean to help loosen the stickers. I scrubbed then off without a problem...
