    Priming first keg

So, I'm getting ready to keg my first batch (5 gallons). I have no idea how much priming I should use. Does anyone know how much I should use?

    Brewing with citrus?

No reason, but I just don't know any hops that would give as much citrus flavor as I'm looking for.

    Brewing with citrus?

I personally love citrus flavor and I really want to use more of it in my beer. Is there a right way to use lime/lemon/grapefruit juice in the brewing process? I'm thinking of doing a lime cider and I'm really not sure how to go about doing that. Any advice would be helpful.

what is the most amount of hops you have used in a 5 gallon batch?

Don't I feel inadequate. I've only just done 8 oz. in a 5 gallon batch about 4 days ago.

    Hopsdirect!

Has anybody ordered from Hopsdirect.com? Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems like they're selling their hops dirtcheap. Does anyone have some feedback about this website? Are their hops good/worthwhile?

    WTF, Zeus or Columbus?

So, I can't get a straight answer as to what (if any) is the difference between Zeus and Columbus hops. As far as I KNEW, they were exactly the same thing, but now I'm hearing that they are two different (but similar) varieties. Does anyone have anything to add? I'm trying to recreate a beer...

How do I use a bottle washer?

That's pretty much what I figured, but I wanted to be safe and know for sure. I wouldn't want to bottle 5 gallons of beer just to have it go to waste from contamination. Thanks a lot everyone.

How do I use a bottle washer?

I recently bought one of those bottle washers that you connect to your faucet and it shoots a jet stream of water into the bottle. The jet of water is supposed to wash away all the dirty stuff, but am I still supposed to use soap and a bottle brush before sanitizing?

Pitching yeast in low temperature wort

Is there any harm in pitching your yeast into wort that is low in temperature (say 40 degrees Fahrenheit)? I added my wort to ice to cool it down quickly and I'm wondering if there's going to be a problem.

Layer of oil on my Peanut Butter beer

Where can I get some pb2 dehydrated peanut butter?

Layer of oil on my Peanut Butter beer

So, I brewed up a peanut butter beer about a month ago and I'm getting ready to bottle pretty soon. I did 2.5 gallons and it's currently sitting in my 6 gallon glass carboy and I've noticed a 1/3 inch thick layer of oil sitting at the top. In case you're wondering, I went through the whole...

    how long to wait?

No real side effects. The beer just may not be fully carbonated, and most brewers say that beer tastes better when it ages longer. Personally, I usually can't wait longer than 10 days before I start drinking my homebrew. But I do notice the beer tasting better every next time I try it. I say...

    Bottling 5 liter pony kegs?

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely do exactly that.

    Bottling 5 liter pony kegs?

I ended up trying it out already, but what I did was use 3/4 cup of brown sugar for priming the whole 5 gallon batch and then made sure to put exactly 5 liters into the keg. If my math is correct, that turns out to be a little less than 3 tbs. in the keg. Do you think I have a bomb getting...

    5 liter pony keg?

Thanks a lot for the advice. Do you by any chance know around how many times you can use it without problems?

    5 liter pony keg?

I recently got one of those 5 liter pony kegs (like Heineken and Spaten and a quite a few beers sell) of Widmer Hefeweizen. I soon had the idea of trying to bottle one of my own beers in one (or possibly more) of these babies. With a little effort you can pop off the top/tab and could definitely...
