Yes, I chill and force carb in my kegerator. Then on serving, I depressurize and dispense at a low PSI (I can't remember what PSI, been a year or so since I've used it.) But, slow and low is the game with that faucet setup. Works just fine for me.

Depending on what you are planning to use for dispensing beer on your picnic setup, have you considered buying a 5 gallon Keglove and using it on your 3 gallon keg?
I find the 5 gallon Keglove on a 5 gallon keg barely adequate, so I'd hate to be further handy capped with an undersized one...
I've bought kegs from both, and am satisfied with the service from both places. Keg Connection will have much better shipping rates, so it's probably worth going with them for that reason. Also, their A+ grade kegs are super nice and I agree with the above posters about the crimp clamps and...
