Bands you should like, but don't.

Dream Theater. As a musician I should love these guys. They certainly have chops, but no soul. It's like listening to a perfectly handcrafted Swiss watch's ticking piped through an amp and the volume turned up to 11. Plus any song over 30 minutes is just musical masturbation.

Why the UK is better than the US

I'm surprised no one's brought up writers. UK +1000 for J.R.R. Tolkien! (Although Shakespeare is really better in the original Klingon)

    Wanna get your mind blown?

I was chatting with a guy who played this back in 07 when it first started. He said that it is capable of learning. That it is a lot better now that it has learned so much. Imagine what it can do in ten years or so...Skynet? Call Arnie?

    Wanna get your mind blown?

    Wanna get your mind blown?

Check out this little web game. You think of a character, either real or fiction, it asks you twenty questions and guesses what it is. I have yet to stump it. Amazing! Have fun! http://us.akinator.com/

I don't think full boils are for me

Maybe some of you experts can help me on this. Doing a full boil with an extract recipe has nothing to do with the extract, but the hops, right? So is it really necessary to have a vigorous, rolling boil to extract the alpha acids from the hops? Especially if you are doing a late addition of...

FermCap Users - How Much, When and Where?

I've only used this once. I added it to the boil per instructions and it worked like a champ. Adding to the fermentor may be a bit more tricky. I added it right after pitching, but unfortunately my fermentation lagged about 24 hours. By that time the stuff settled out and I had a vigorous...

    FermcapS rock!!! Pic

Has anyone been able to stop a blowoff? Maybe with a long syringe or something, so the fermcap can get down into the wort. I added the fermcap when I pitched. But the fermentation lagged for about 24 hours, and I've got krausen up the wahoozoo.

    Transporting Wort?

I'm going to be brewing over at my buddies place about twenty minutes away, then bringing the brew back to my place. Should I pitch before or after the trip? Or should the beer stay at his place? Will the agitation ruin the beer? I hope you guys can help me here.

How Many of You Have Been Accused...

Winston Churchill was a big drinker, and he kicked the Nazi's ASS! In fact he said: "I have taken more good from alcohol than alcohol has taken from me." So if he can drink heavily and still perform his job, why can't I? (Of course this argument didn't work with my dear Mother)
