I just used this on a heavily modified (and well out of style) dubbel and it took off like a ROCKET. Visible activity in 4 hours. I'm really looking forward to tasting this once it's done working.
Sometimes a packed pipeline just can't make up for that one batch you completely nailed.
I'm clinging to my last three pumpkin spice ale bottles cause it was so damn good.
Thanks again for getting this all coordinated.
I emptied the bags into storage bins and couldn't resist munching on a couple of grains. Tastes great! Very much looking forward to brewing with this stuff!
PBR here too. It's more palatable than the rest of the commonly available macros and I gravitate to bars geared to hipsters or heshers so it's almost always the night's special.
Hahahaha man... I keep getting the emails from this thread and laugh about how hard it is to wrangle everyone together for this. Grim and DHBM, many many thanks for taking the reigns on this. :mug:
Looking forward to meeting you all on the 1st.
Depending on the delivery location you can count me in for 100. The price doesn't justify a drive to Longmont for me.
If I wasn't in an apartment I'd take delivery but I can't see stashing 1000 lbs of grain in my place.
20 minutes in oxy and GD labels slide right off for me. Maybe the glue is curing on its way to Oklahoma. :D They're less than a mile from me so I get the fresh stuff!
Another local homebrewer once mentioned that a spirit like whiskey can be used as a priming sugar due to a lot of residual fermentables in it. I didn't buy into it. Can anyone confirm / deny?
Also might I recommend looking into an Arduino to control this? I've been working on a temperature controller using one. I'm a complete idiot when it comes to programming and I've still managed to piece together code that will probably work (haven't fully tested yet).
Was it used as a single-shot or with a varying duty cycle to control? 555s are pretty simple and most configurations are similar, just with different R/C values to change timing of pulses.
Can you give more info on the application?
