I have taken a little time in reading how to create a yeast bank. I have a few questions, and I wanted to know if their are any videos of doing this. I have read the FlyGuy's easy step's to making a yeast bank, but have a few questions about the equipment specs. As well as how much water...
Well they were actually two different recipes but, I didn't think that the grain bill would have anything to do with it because we brewed two other different recipes in the same mash tun but never had problems. We brewed a stout using single infusion. A Scottish Ale using single infusion, but...
Here is my next question again part 2, when my buddies and I brewed two weekends ago. I noticed that my buddy who decided to step mash, took forever to sparge, not to mention our mash tun would clog up and stop the flow. We used the same tank to mash for both step mash and single infusion. What...
It has been over a year since my last brew, and I am trying to get all of my knowledge about brewing to come back to me. I do however have a few questions here and there, because again I have almost forgotten everything.
My question is, between a buddy of mine and I, we both mash...
Has anyone tried to run a fish air tank through a filtered line and an aeration stone while your fermenting? I have seen and herd about this and was wondering about its effectiveness.
well the problem is I have a Honeywell RTH221B with a different wire hook up. Fortunately though I was able to get it to work. I plan to post a few pics and instructions on what I did.
Now that we have experienced our first high temp of 90 degrees outside, and raised the inside of our house to above 80 degrees. My question is...Is their a cheap efficient way to reduce the temp of our fermenting beer at about 65-68 degrees and not pay out on the electricity bill for our AC...
A wise beer enthusiast once said R.D.W.H.A.H.B. and be patient, it's hard to honestly really screw it up. Unless you never boiled anything or even raised your temperature once while throwing half your stuff in the air, jumping up and down making monkey noises. Your beer may not be all 100% the...
Well lets say I got a hold of a grain list to a particular recipe but it doesn't list the amount of grains I need. So What I want to do is figure out the percentage to base malts to specialty malts. Lets say this is a Porter with a base malt of American 2 Row, and the specialty malts are 120L...
Thats the beauty about glass carboys, and the fact you can see the crazy reactions going on inside the beer. It is rather cool to watch. Not the most beautiful thing to see honestly but when you know the signs of a good fermentation it does become rather beautiful :mug:
