    Fermentation question

Update checked gravity @ day 6 now at 1.020. Air lock has backed up to liquid in both sides instead of one.

    Fermentation question

Sorry I used LalBrew London English Dry Ale yeast for 5 gallons and pitch an entire packet at 70 degrees and storing at 68 degrees counting for differential on outside temp vs temp in bucket. I do not have a thermometer on clear bucket. Initial gravity was 1.050. Occasional bubbles in air lock.

    Fermentation question

I have brewed two extract kits and the krausen on top was noticeable with some greenish byproduct which I assume is likely from the hops. However over the weekend I did an all grain recipe for Pumpkin Spice beer. I pitched yeast and air lock bubbled for about a day with occasional bubbles coming...

    Pale ale turned clear 🤷‍♂️

I had it at 38 for a few weeks no luck. I didn’t understand the importance of avoiding the trub in fermenter and keg. Now I do

    Sparging

Sweet. Your awesome I get it now any extra water is to raise temp. I am using one cooler and gonna drain into to a 10 gallon bucket, for five gallons for beer. Then boil and add hops and what not. Then ferment for a couple weeks and let site for a couple more in a secondary prior to kegging...

    Sparging

So I am the in for a penny in for a pound kind of guy. And since I successfully made my first extract Hefeweizen, and currently enjoying, I invested in all wheat equipment. I.e got mad at prices and made it myself. I was curious about sparging. There are many post on this but to be honest my...

    Pale ale turned clear 🤷‍♂️

My first batch of Amber Ale looked horrible, see pics below. I wish I had your problem. Poured out 5 gallons. Tasted fine, but couldn’t get past the look.

    Keezer

My wife told me I could I to have the Keezer if I put a hutch for some of her kitchen stuff. The one on the right only has one shelf and then the bottom is open to facilitate heat transfer off the compressor. I have a mobile island in my beer room with all my beer gear.

    Keezer

Yes, had to make sure the hitch was tall enough to cover the clearance of the tap. Left the back open so I I ever have to change freezer I can just pull it out.

    Keezer

Not a great Carpenter but wanted to post. Haven’t seen many with a hutch wanted a rustic look and ripped all the trim wood myself.
