Plug heatsticks into your stove outlet

I recently moved into a small apartment with a small kitchen (and a mini stove). The electrical in this apartment is very limited so I wanted to utilize the stove outlet. I also didn't want to have to move the stove to access the outlet everytime that I brew and would still be able to heat up...

All-grain recipes (lighter in color) to put on nitro?

I have brewed many stouts and porters that are excellent on nitro. With summer coming up I was interested in brewing some "lighter" beers. Does anyone have all-grain recipes that you would recommend to put on nitro? Thanks.

    Off flavors with dark malts

I have been getting some off-flavors with my beers that include dark malts such as roasted barley. Two stouts and an Irish Red have all had this off-flavor. The off flavor is difficult to describe, sort of a really bad after taste or harshness. I have not changed my crush and I am careful...

    Efficiency - Base Malt

My system produces higher efficiency than the recipes I use. For example, a recipe stated an OG of 1.054 and my OG was 1.064. Do I reduce the base malt or all of the grain to hit my target gravity? Does anyone have any general guidelines for reducing the malt bill to hit the correct OG? Thanks.

    Primary Fermenter for Double Batch

What do you use for a primary fermenter for a double batch? I am looking for some sort of inexpensive primary fermenter (14-15 gallon capacity). I know many people use the containers that are used for LME which are about 15 gallons. They seem like they would be difficult to clean. Does...

    RIMS - Mashout

I recently built a RIMS with a PID to contol it . I have a couple of questions about mashout. I am using a keg with a false bottom as a MLT and a March pump. The heat exchanger is a 4500W heating element running on 110 VAC. After recirculating the mash for one hour I would like to raise the...
