pH meter storage - distilled vinegar

As we all know, pH meter storage solution is expensive and runs out all too quickly. I recently read that white distilled vinegar is a good means of cleaning the meter when the "regular" storage solution crystalizes on it. May one also "store" the meter's probe in said vinegar, or would that...

Flow control downstream of pump needed?

Howdy, I have a two kettle setup with a Blichmann Riptide pump to move liquid back and forth… Riptide has a needle valve built in to control flow rate. With that being said, Is there any advantage to adding a supplemental flow control valve of some kind immediately “downstream” of the Riptide...

small battery powered fan for keezer - why is it stopping?

I bought two small fans powered by two AA batteries. I set one in my fermentation chamber (a front opening minifridge); and the other in my keezer (a medium size top opening deep freeze). When I open the door to either chamber, after a period of an hour or two, the fans are invariably not...

Several questions for experienced all grain brewers

    1) I have a SPIKE Flex Plus, with a "manifold" on it, which includes a pressure guage, a ball lock male connector, and a PRV valve. How should I clean/sanitize this? I am concerned with damaging the pressure gauge with liquids. Also, how does one go about "pressure fermenting" with these FLEX...

    Blichmann customer service sux

Compared to SPIKE, at least (which is excellent); Blichmann service is slow! Good thing it’s not brewday. Emailed their CS and they sent me an email the next day sayin they would contact me in 5-7 days. Tried a phone call and got basically the same. I got a chiller, pump, etc feom them...

    Glycol chiller or fridge ?

Dont know much about the advantages/disadvantages of either 1) conical fermenting in fridge , or 2) ...fermenting outside of fridge via a “glycol chiller” I am especially interested in electrical costs, ease of use and cleaning, and any other points that arent apparent.

    RIMS tube & oxegon uptake

Would a RIMs tube in which you recirculate wort thru said tube and back into the mash be harmful to the wort in any manner, in regards to the LODO techniques ??

Would this 2-vessel system work as LODO?

Would this work?? Trying come up with a 2-vessel system for BIAB / LODO (Low oxegon brewing). Two vessel system. 20-gallon pot for a mash tun (MT) and 15-gallon Hot liqour tank/boil kettle (BK). Heat liquor in the BK and pump it out the spigot of BK, and into spigot of MT and “underlet”...
