    15% off Coopers kit!

Also, on the outside are liter marks so it's easy to top off. :D

    15% off Coopers kit!

Yes, the fermenter is 30 liters. The coopers recipes make 23 liters (approx. 6 gallons) so it fills up around 3/4 or so. Plenty of room for a nice krausen.

Mixing Coopers Brew Enchancer 2 in fermenter..

Add the extract after it ceases boiling. :) The brew enhancer 2 has no hops and won't carmelize like the can of extract would.

    Ever use Coopers DME?

Sorry, yes, I use it (among other Cooper products) and I like it!

    15% off Coopers kit!

Folks were asking for cheaper price on the Coopers kit (for the fermenter and all) and I found a sale so posting it here for those who want to take advantage of it. Timing is good for those tax rebate checks? ;) hmm, said that in the email to me... but on their SITE LINK it says: Anyway...

Coopers Beer Kit SALE (20% OFF)

Is 'off the chain' a good thing? I hope :) Hops, np! I wasn't sure it was a good idea to post it. I'm not working for them or getting anything for it (other than using them as a vender myself). :) Also, they WERE selling Irish Stout, IPA and LME for $5 off but you'll have to check and see...

Coopers Beer Kit SALE (20% OFF)

That does include a batch of lager (with "Brewing Sugar" - that *I* thought was a decent lager) as well though. Even if you don't need a 'fermometer' (~$2?) or a hydrometer (~$10) or a good plastic spoon (~$5?) or an airlock for it ($3?) or bottling wand or the lager kit (~$27?) the 30 bottles...

Want to brew a REAL Aussie beer

I really enjoyed the Coopers Australian Pale Ale I made for my first batch. Yeah yeah, it's an extract. I also modded it with a heavy? (2oz) cascade dry hop. I've had wonderful compliments from several friends (some of which are not BMCers but even the BMCers loved it! OMG) Unfortunately it's...

    A few quick questions

I'd avoid a stainless/metal spoon in a plastic fermenter. Scratches are great for bacteria to hide in.

    Making First Batch on Sunday

Hmm, California style IPA... Would that be an IPA with cascade hops or some other west coast hops? It would help to know who makes the cans of extract, whether they are pre-hopped already, etc. Example: Coopers IPA is pre-hopped. Any additional hops added just make it hoppier (other than dry...

    WTF! Someone please explain...

I enjoy the 'acceptable amounts of urea?' point. Of course, an article like Beer for the Ignorant would make great 'light reading' at the bar! ;)

    just starting

+1 to Madman. I'd suggest doing a kit first and if you feel it went well and no major problems then try your hand at a PM (partial mash). I'd recommend doing PMs for a while (there are some GREAT threads (with pics!) on these forums). Once you feel you are a master (I doubt I will EVER feel that...

    Almost out of beer

Time to break out the extract and push a session beer through with minimums/deadlines on 'em! :) 5 days in the fermenter and straight into a keg to burst? WoW! ;)

If I was running spacecraft mine would have crashed....

I'd leave it be until you think it's all done then take a reading. If it's the same a day or two later then time to rack. Sounds like you made light beer? ;) I have the Coopers fermenter so I've been adjusting to the 23L instead of ~19L also. I think the wort temp. would be the worse mistake...

    CO2 Prices

I live in a rural area and found out they want $21 to fill a 5# and $27 to fill a 20#. So I bought a 20# and kept the 5# for use while filling the empty 20#. Hopefully it will last several 'refill periods'.
