    Leaking Corny Keg

I had a similar issue a month or so ago. Found that it was a small cut in the O-ring on the out side of the poppet. Check those really close, and often. The more you pop the fitting on and off the more wear and tear you get on those.

    Seal-A-Meal

We use clip-n-seal at our brewery. We often have to get hops from different sources and the c-n-s is cut to fit for different sizes of bags. They even use them on the Space Shuttle. http://clipnseal.com/

    Subsitute for Biscuit Malt

I switched from biscuit to Special Roast after my LBHS stopped carrying the biscuit with no detectable differences in flavor.

    Anyone use Kinko's?

Well, you could say making your own beer is a pain in the ass when you can just go down to the store and buy it. It's just another level of DIY for a lot of the guys here. Do you just want to make your own beer, or your own packaging as well? I come from a sales and marketing background, so...

    Anyone use Kinko's?

I used Kinos for mine. Made them in Photoshop, impoted them into a 4th & Vine template, had them laser color printed at Kinkos, then just cut them out with an exacto knife (the cutter at Kinko's would be even better) and used a glue stick to put them on. :mug:

    Show off your brew setup!

Here are some photos of our system in the new space we moved into a couple of months ago. We have made a couple of changes but the core setup remains the same. http://schoonerexact.typepad.com/photos/first_brew_in_the_new_spa/

Don't try this at home (part 1)

This is very cool. I am starting the licensing process right now for my own similar venture. I am starting a blog so my partners and I can keep people abreast of the day to day things that come up and what it takes to get something like this going from scratch. Once that is up and running I will...

    ESB Yeast

We use 1098 for our ESB, as does a local micro (where we got our first batch ot the 1098). It gets down fairly quickly and does not require a rest at all. I likeit because it does not pull all of the malt out like the 1056 tends to. We also added a bit of biscuit malt for color and a nice bready...

06.06.06 Brew day, post your results, tips, gripes...

I would be very interested in what you guys come up with as I want to try this out on my new all grain set up. I did a batch with the exteact version but had to make a couple of slight changes. Used Smoked Rauch instead of Smoked Germany (not sure there is any difference there). Used Crystal...

    corny keg/draft tower questions

Well, the questions would then be, how are you going to cool the box? You could have a cooler with copper coil inside, fill the cooler with ice and run the beer from the keg, through the cooler, and then to the tower. However you then have disposal of water after each party and no full time...

    Wyeast 3056 vs 3068

Brewing up a hef this weekend and not sure which of these to use. The 3068 looks more like the profile I want but it says that ir requires 33% headspace?!?!?! Has anyone used the 3068 with less headspace? If so how did it work? Has anyone used the 3056 and did it give all of those nice...

06.06.06 Brew day, post your results, tips, gripes...

I did the extract version of this and just checked it a couple of days ago. I missed the OG by a bit and ended up with 1.066. I got caught up with getting my all-grain set up going and never got to transfer this, so it has been in primary for over a month and a half. In the long run I think I'm...

    what to stick with

I take mine down to the local Kinko's and get them done in laser. Have not had a problem yet and it's realtively cheap to do.

    Retirement Ale

I like the ESB idea. Being ex-Army myself I get the interesting play on words as well, since when I finally got out I was definitely Extra Special Bitter!

    Rogue Frosty Frog

Interesting, I spent a year and a half in Germany and never encountered a lemon. Might be a regional thing.

Is that a Lagunitas in your pocket?...

MMMMMM, I love Lagunitas IPA. I was kicking around the local Trader Joe's today and found that they carried it! That is the first place in town I have found other than Bottleworks.
