    Meat, wow, meat, camping recipes?

Dutch ovens are the best for camping. A small smoker would be nice too. http://www.macscouter.com/Cooking/DutchOven.html http://www.cowboyshowcase.com/dutch_oven_cooking.htm http://www.dutchovencookware.com/dutch-oven-recipes.html

    Poolside Beer

Stainless steel coffee travel mugs work well. They're insulated, and have thick tops for blocking the sun. Thereare some that hold like a quart at a time too. :mug:

    Should I bother with Stawberries?

I've made a wheat beer using every fruit I can get my hands on - strawberries included that's quite good. I wasn't crazy about the apple version but some people liked it. You didn't say if it was to be all grain or extract so I'm guessing extract. Deejay's Special Wheat For Fruits Extracts...

Mini Mash System for Extract Brewers

If you are thinking about AG but want to do a small batch in a 5 gallon cooler you could take up the space to provide for a deep grainbed by putting a large water filled plastic mayonaise or prezel jar in the middle of the braid to take up space. I've done that with my 10 gallon cooler - it...

Mini Mash System for Extract Brewers

I have a 10 gallon rubbermaid cooler but I don't see why it can't be done with any cooler with a threaded removable spigot. I removed the rubbermaid cooler spigot , added a primary bucket Spigot ($3), added a nylon straight T which threaded into the end of the spigot ($2), 2 - nylon barbed...

An apprasal of doing AG without large equipment

Maybe you could boil down to a thicker (more consentrated) wort in one pot and use the second for additional sterile water to bring it up to the needed volume. The extra water could be cooling while your mashing/sparging etc. so you wouldn't need to cool two pots. :o

    Hop sock/bag cleaning

I use the cheap muslin bags - a few minutes after I pull the bag out I turn them inside out to dump the contents rince it out well and throw in a bowl of sanitizer. No stains. But I won't hurt anything.

    Rhizomes are in!

Brewman - You should've waited until after the last frost. It's still to cold to plant. We wait until end of April early May here in CT, I don't expect it's much different in NY. Did you plant them in the snow?

    Rhizomes are in!

Dude - Those rhizomes look really dry! dip them in some water and seal the bags until the night before you plant them, then soak them in a bucket of water over night. They'll take better. Good Luck! :mug:

    Rhizomes are in!

Try soaking your rhizomes in a bucket of water over night before you plant them. Don't let the roots dry out before you plant. Root stocks need to be kept moist if they dry out they will probably die. If you get them early add a tiny bit of water to a ziplock bag and keep them in a cool place...
