    How long is wort good for?

    A friend gave me a box of stout wort (similar to brewhouse). there isn't an expiry on the box but the yeast says it expired March 2006. I know the yeast is shot but do you think the wort is OK?

    Red Ale issues

    I tried one of my sample bottles as per usual after 2 weeks in the bottle. There was a distinct flavor of burnt potato chips. At first i thought it was because it needed more time but then i bought a 6 pack of cheep red ale for a comparison and that same flavor of burnt chips was still there...

    Just a heads up from you Northern friends. The home brewing community is about to be flooded with Canadians. The price of beer here has just gone up again. Our average beer price is $2 a bottle regardless of buying 6,12,15,24,30. We also get the benefit of paying $0.10 a bottle for recycling...
