    Accidentally watered down my wort!!!

That's what I'm thinking.... A lot of good things were discovered by accident. LOL

    Accidentally watered down my wort!!!

Good point...... I forgot that when I first started extract brewing I always topped off the wort post boil in the fermenter. So, I basically did the same thing!!! I just may have watered down beer. LOL

    Accidentally watered down my wort!!!

I did back to back brews yesterday and today. I did a Cream Ale first, and while knocking out the wort into 7 gal fermenter I noticed I had way more wort that is typical for my brews. And for the life of me I couldn't figure how or why this happened. It was like I didn't have any boil off...

    A Brewmaster

Never say Never..... Like most all of us here that started with that 5 gal batch you'll catch the bug and though you may never be a Brewmaster, you'll be making great beer for yourself and friends!!!

    Taking FG reading

Yes, you should take a reading just to verify and compare to your expected FG listed in recipe. And then take another a day or two later to see if it is in fact finished. Taking a sample from the spout is best to limit contamination, just make sure to spray it down with sanitizer first!!! This...

What is your home brewery's name?

WILDBILL BREWING..... I'm retired Law Enforcement and my legal first name is "William" but I go by my middle name. When I worked in Undercover, I had to make a fake persona and had Driver's License and credit cards in the name of William ****** and went by "Bill" or "Wildbill" so once I started...

DIY Jockey Box Coil Blow Out Tip

Awesome!!!! I just bought one awhile back when on sale, and think it's too slow filling tires so I don't really use it. I now have a NEW use for it..... LOL Thanks for sharing!!!

Where to drill through Frigidaire 4.4 cu ft mini fridge?

The only safe place is the door..... put near edge on hinge side and you should be able to still open it if you leave some slack in the gas line!!!

    Cleaning RO water jugs?

I make my own RO, but for the little costs of OxyClean Free and a couple gals of starsan I would do it every time!! Mix one jug with a couple gals of oxy, swirl it around and dump into next, and so on until all are done...... then repeat process with the starsan. It's what I do with my food...

    First ferment with new FermZilla

Hook up Co2 with very low pressure.... 2-4 psi, don't need much. common law of physics is that the gas will displace the liquid (Wort) until gone. Putting wort into fermenter will not require a closed transfer, but going from fermenter to keg I do closed transfer. Fill keg with starsan, then...

    Dry Hopping - optimal time?

That sounds right @Golddiggie you'll get different flavor profiles with different temps.... I may drop the temps in my ferment chamber down about 20 degrees (48-50 range) when I transfer to secondary and remove it from the yeast and will basically doing a conditioning phase. Kind of a mild cold...

    Dry Hopping - optimal time?

I agree with your above statement and why I have never done it before..... But that was when I used to use the standard 6 gal buckets!!! I use Fermzilla All Rounders now and do closed transfers from fermenter to keg with no exposure to oxygen, and I can do the same transferring between 1st and...

On the Anvil website the make a blocking plate for brewing smaller batches... it covers the side holes.

    Dry Hopping - optimal time?

I'm currently doing a Cashmere Blonde Ale from NB and will be dry hopping as per the recipe for the first time, and it states to leave the 1oz of hops in secondary for 5-7 days before bottling.... I've gone off the script on other recipes and some have not turned out well. I'm sticking...

    Anvil's Sledge PET-fermentors/Kegs

I'm with @Noob_Brewer .... I have the Kegland Fermzilla 7.9 All Rounder and love it..... So much, that I bought a second one when I converted my mini fridge to hold it. I can now do two brews at once!! I like that I can do a closed transfer from fermenter to keg and have the option to use a...

    closed transfer took 45 minutes!!!!

So the keg you were transferring into was full of starsan and you pushed beer from fermenter into keg under pressure? if that's the case I think you were trying to push a lot of fluid with too little pressure!!!! Next time try purging the full keg of starsan with just CO2 till empty then leave...

Did my first AG batch today - unsure if it was successful

Your numbers are off a little which happens and you can figure out with more brews how to get them closer...... it's all in the acceptable range I feel and bottom line is you'll have beer in the end. May not taste exactly like clone and ABV could be lower but use this batch to learn what to do...

    ANVIL FOUNDRY ALL-GRAIN BREWING SYSTEM

I had this same error show on my last brew.... freaked me out, but just unplugged and plugged back in hoping it would reset itself and it worked!!!! Not sure what caused it, but plugged mash temp back in and had no other problems throughout the rest of boil. No need to reset the button on bottom!!!
