    Keg info please

I'm about to start a batch of Hef and may get a keg system so I can spead things up a little. Northern Brewer seems to be the best deal so far. Anyone got any suggestions? Also, what are your thoughts on force carbonation, and how should I change the amount of priming sugar accordingly?

    Great bottles

Yo brewers, Just wanted to let anyone who hasn't tryed them, and uses there own used bottles to know that I've used some of the Guiness bottles with the shrink wrap lable. They're awsome. The widget pulls right out with pliers, and the shrink wrap pulls right off. They seem a little light, but...

    Hopps substitute

Last night I brewed a beer called Elbro Nerkte. After I had steeped my grains and added my LME I reached for my hopps to realize that I had somehow lost them. The recipe called for like 1/2oz. Nothern Brewer for boiling, and 1/4oz. American Hallertau. I happened to have Fuggles around from my...

Anyone ever brewed CJHB's Elbro Nerkte?

Brewing CJHB's Elbro Nerkte tonight, with White Labs' London Ale Yeast. I'm exited because the instructions are for a very quick ferment. Just wondering if anyone has a say? I love brewing:drunk: :cross:

    How long in bottles?

I've got about 20 bottles left from my previouse brew. They've been pretty good, and have been conditioning for about three weeks. If I'm wanting to have them ready for a party in about 3 weeks should I put them in the fridge? I didn't know if it's better to leave them @ room temp. for this...

    Jeremiah clone anyone?

:cross: One of my favorite beers is Jeremiah Red @ BJ’s restaurant. I’m looking for an Extract recipe. Also love Nutty Brunet. Anyone got one of these? Thanks

    4gal. in 5gal. Carboy

The title pretty much says it. didn't mix enough water with my beer and just racked it. I also scooped out the foam on top after primary fermentation for 2.5 days. OG was 1.66 and it is now 1.31. Think any of this is a prob?

    especialy active fermentation

Yo brewers, Sunday I brewed up a Shiner clone, because I plan on having it at a party where the beer drinkers aren’t really into dark beer. Everything seemed to go really well. I was supposed to end up with a beginning gravity of 1.70, but I ended up with 1.66 which I’m fine with because I...

1st brew seeking tasty companion (recipe)

Hello brewers, I’m a week from drinking my first brew, Muntons Nut Brown Ale. I am about ready to start my next brew, and looking for suggestions. I mostly like dark beers. Porters, Stouts, Bocks, and Ales, and am looking at a recipe from The Complete Joy of Home Brewing called “Elbro Nerkte”...

    Worried about taste while bottling

Fellow brewers, I just recently bottled my first brew. While bottling I tasted a little. It’s a Muntons nut brown ale. It had a nice taste, but tasted a little watered down. The instructions were for single stage fermentation. 2-3 days primary and another week then bottle. I used a secondary...

    Keg info please

I happened onto a keg that someone was throwing away, and had some questions. Its a Spartanburg 7.75gal. keg. Is it worth using? Do you have it cleaned? Does it need to be full, or could I fill it with 5gal. of home brew?

    Controling environment

I am getting a little flack because I have been fermenting inside my small house. I want to move it to my garage. It would be fairly easy for me to enclose an area in the corner, but I don't know if it might be better to just get a fridge. If I got a fridge is it possible to set the temp to 70f...

    Hello from a new Texan

Recently bottled my first brew. Nut brown ale. My wife and friends are very tired of talking about my new found passion, so i've turned here.
