How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

Another five batches of Brazilian, of about 6.5oz each. 225.68+2.02 = 227.7 lbs.

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

I roasted six batches again today of the 'Brazil Fazenda Da Lagoa Natural 17/18' from coffee bean corral, and seven batches a while ago, but one of them burned (no fire, but not salvageable) when the circuit breaker tripped. The last ten pounds of that coffee were more expensive, I think the...

Ultimate Corny Keg Fermenter: Internal Coils and Glycol (chilled water for now)

The latent heat of water is about 2200kJ/kg, or kWs/kg, so with 1100 W or ~3800 BTU/hour cooling power you can condense half a gram of water per second, give or take. That's 1800 gram or half a gallon per hour, which seems a decent amount. It's half of what an 8000 BTU/hr air conditioner could...

    Emulsifiers

Wouldn't it be easier and healthier to just shake/rotate the bottles before dispensing, instead of adding chemicals?

    Bad Smell (Sulfur Type)

Maybe your second filter (the small one) is saturated with whatever it is that causes the smell (hydrogen sulfide?)? I would remove the second (original, small) filter and see whether the smell goes away.

Ultimate Corny Keg Fermenter: Internal Coils and Glycol (chilled water for now)

Very nice! For my fermenter I started with an internal loop, since it gives the best thermal coupling to the liquid to be cooled, but handling was kind of clunky, and in the end I convinced myself that the thermal coupling of an external loop is good enough. For the kegs I didn't even try...

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

I roasted another 6 batches and checked my yield again: the roasting weight loss is indeed about 22%. Out of each 6 oz cup of green beans - one batch for the SR500 with extender tube - I get 1.6 cups of roasted beans (60% volume increase) that weigh 4 2/3 oz. 6 batches = 36 oz = 2 1/4 lbs 103...

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

I roasted another 4 batches, 26 oz raw, 19.5 oz roasted. 25% loss seems at the high end of the normal weight loss. These are the Brazilian beans I had mentioned earlier. Also, I think the IR pics just show the glass temperature, not the beans inside. Probably not so far off though in the top...

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

Ruint, they are all with beans in the roaster. The resolution of that IR imager is pretty low, so the IR part/overlay of the image is just going to be one amorphous hot blob. In the first pic you can some beans in the optical overlay, near the bottom. The yellow blob towards the top is probably...

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

I roasted another 5 batches or about 35 ounces today. We are counting the weight before roasting, right? 48.63 + 2.17 = 50.8 lbs And here are some infrared pics of my SR500, taken with my new extra sturdy old person phone (BV9900pro). Pretty amazing what they are putting into phones these...

    compact peltier cooled carboy setup

Update: On average the system used about 140 kWhr per month since August, or $20/month at the rate I'm paying. It ran very reliably. I had to top off the hot side once since I redid the tubing connections. I could hear the pump getting a bit noisier with a few air bubbles circulating. I now...

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

Another 1.75 lbs. Total 45.13 lbs. The colder temperature really does make a significant difference; a single 7oz batch now takes 20 minutes, and I have to switch the SR500 to the high setting to reach 400 F. In the summer I could let a roast finish on the medium setting (although I typically...

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

I ran out of coffee AGAIN, and roasted another 17 ounces; together with a roasting session earlier this month, also short because just like today I was hoping for warmer weather soon (yeah, right..), this makes 2 lbs and 2 ounces, or 2.13 lbs, for a total of 40.38 lbs. At least for espresso, I...

How many pounds of roasted coffee in 2021?

Yeah, Ruint, we count on you. It also compensates for people like me who can't keep up with posting. Well, it over-compensates. I probably roasted another 5 pounds last year that I didn't get around to posting. Slightly off-topic: I finished the 'fancier' coffees last year, and decided to order...

Meet Thing 1. A 5Kw Induction All In One...

Aha, a single hole. That is indeed a lot less drilling. Do you have a link for a false bottom that fits the basket kettle you linked? (Not that I need it, since I already built something more complicated... but for future reference.)

Meet Thing 1. A 5Kw Induction All In One...

So your basket doesn't have holes. And you are saying drilling them is difficult. Without holes that 'basket' (some people might call it a pot) meets the requirement towards a basket that it doesn't let the grain out, but it doesn't quite meet the requirement of letting the liquid drip through...

    Crane's Never ending Brewery Upgrades

Still pretty awesome! (I think I already commented earlier.) Regarding oxygen sensors: if I remember correctly, the oxygen measurement heads were going bad and had to be replaced with some regularity (every two years?) on the ODH (oxygen deficiency hazard) monitoring system of a large...

Flite - Keg Level, Temperature, and Pressure Sensor

Very neat! I might have looked up the wrong part (version), but it seems the temperature and pressure sensor is significantly more expensive than the level (distance) sensor; is that right?

Arduino Keg Sensor for Level, Temperature, and Pressure with Display

I had seen the picture with the cover before. I am interested in seeing the parts below the cover. But thank you for your effort.
