    Keg tool

Question... If you wanted to use this method for pulling a hole for a 1" coupling (coupling is for a water heater element), what size hole and pull through should you use?

Hey HopTrap, Thanks for the offer, but I already have my kegs and fittings. I need to be able to sell my MLT to finish out my new rig (mostly electronics).

    Electric Direct-Fired MLT

2 x 240V 4500W LDW = Camco 02583 (HLT and BK) 1 x 240V 3500W LDW = Camco 02523 (MLT) I bought all three on line at, http://www.hardwareworld.com/ The Camco web site has the best info for their own elements, they just don't sell direct.

    Electric Direct-Fired MLT

Hey Packer, Thanks for the links. Definitely some interesting ideas on both. I just love the original ideas and builds that spring from them. And for my project, I just got my first goodies in today. https://cdn.homebrewtalk.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=33225&cat=846 And these just showed...

Building my control panel one PID with multiple temp probes?

I'm glad you asked this question. I was wondering the same thing last night as I was planning the next phase of my brewery. I am hoping to use one PID to control both my MLT and my boil kettle (not at the same time) and just disconnect/connect the RTD from the vessel I will be using.

    Electric Direct-Fired MLT

Just a few updates as I've been able to sell some old equipment and start picking up stuff for my new build. I still plan on the direct-fired electric mash. My new system will be a 5 gallon (with the option for 10 gallon) all keggle, all electric, two-tier system (with one pump). Everything...

    240v heating element question

Hey Pol, Where did you find your 40A SSR/Heatsink combos. $16 for the set appears to be a pretty good deal, though I haven't really researched pricing extensively.

    240v heating element question

So I am moving toward an electric setup up as well. I am planning 240V, 5500w LWD elements. This pulls 23 amps. Is it safe to use 25A SSRs, or is this cutting a bit to close?

    What powers your boil kettle?

Propane for now, but actively pursuing an all electric brewery. Picked up my kegs last week and hope to start cutting them soon. Then comes the purchase of all the elements, PIDs, wiring, breakers, etc.

    Electric Direct-Fired MLT

I picked up 4 kegs (three 15.5gal and one 50L) today (legally) for $20 a piece, so keggle construction will begin sometime in the next few weeks. For now, 2 of the 15.5s will be my new HLT and BK. The other 15.5 will become a buddy's HLT and the 50L might become a BK for another friend just...

kegs, are they really this elusive??

Just keep an eye on Craig's list. I am picking up 4 decommissioned (legal) 1/2 barrels tomorrow for $20 bucks a piece. I've been looking for a while and just happened to get lucky finding a post this morning.

    Electric Direct-Fired MLT

Thanks for the feedback guys. The thinner mash is definitely a good point that I failed to mention. Enzymes will be more diluted, but hopefully not to the point of losing out on conversion (and if so, maybe a longer mash will be in order). I've got nothing but time. I think I'm going to at...
