    What's your favorite IPA?

I love Two-hearted, but I've been switching back and forth with Humalupalicious for the last year. I'm getting tired of Short's though, because of the stupid-ass novelty beers that they keep coming out with. :( Also, Hopslam would be my favorite if it was more affordable. Two-hearted wins...

    For Love of Samichlaus

Ok, I'll repost my other post here (I didn't know that there was a Samichlaus thread): "Just picked up a bottle of this two days ago, and I just cracked her open. Pretty good stuff. Not for every occasion. But damned tasty! I've never had a four year old beer before. I was going to save...

    Drinking a 2006 Samichlaus

Just picked up a bottle of this two days ago, and I just cracked her open. Pretty good stuff. Not for every occasion. But damned tasty! I've never had a four year old beer before. I was going to save it, but the store that I bought it from still has a couple, so I figured I would try it...

American Pale Ale Cascades / Orange Pale Ale

Well, I've just transferred the beer to secondary, but I only used one ounce of cascades for the dry hop. It's all that I had. :o Should make a difference though. I did take a gravity reading, and it was tasty as hell when I drank it! I'll probably bottle this next Friday.

American Pale Ale Cascades / Orange Pale Ale

Just got back into brewing after over a year. This is the third batch of beer I've made in the last month or so. I decided to do the PM recipe version, and hit my OG of 1.06! The smells coming out of the fermenter are delicious! Can't wait to try it. Thanks for the recipe! :mug: :rockin...

The Most Terrible Beer Ever orrr The Worst Beer Of All Time?

Some beers that have been listed... Bud Clamato - F'n nasty. Do not buy this, unless you love the taste of stomach acid (either going in, or coming out). Steel Reserve - Best ABV for the money. Of course it's not tasty. That's not what it's for, duh. It's tolerable if you're not expecting...

    AHA Competition Entry Story

Wow, hope you score well with the judges man! It's good to hear that things worked out. :mug: So, is it technically illegal to ship beer, even though the competitions say to send beer to them? Just wondering the reason that you were denied.

    Raspberry Apple Cider

Made a batch of this a few weeks ago, but I made it five gallons, and added an extra LB of corn sugar, and about a half LB of table sugar. I'll let you know how it turns out!

    Vanilla extract versus vanilla bean

I am making a coffee stout. In the secondary I wanted to add 4 cups cold brewed coffee and 2.5 tablespoons of vanilla extract. I have been reading that a lot of people put in vanilla beans soaked in bourbon or vodka instead of extract. Should I really go with the beans or would the extract...

I want to add cherry puree to my chocolate stout.

Man, if I need two cans, this will be the most expensive beer I've ever made! Will all this fit in a five gallon carboy (Might be a six gallon carboy, because there is a decent amount of head space)?

I want to add cherry puree to my chocolate stout.

I'm going to go with the Oregon brand cherry puree in the 3 LB can. Is one can sufficient enough to flavor 5 gallons of beer? I plan on adding this to my secondary and racking on top of it. I expect fermentation to start up again, due to the sugars in the fruit. How long should I let it sit in...

    Newport Hops?

I just bought a pound of these. Thinking of doing a Two-hearted clone, but subbing out the centennials for newport hops. Just to kind of showcase the hop, which I'm not too familiar with. Think that would be good?

    Chunky Yeast

I would say to just let the beer sit longer, and it should settle out in time. I have to ask the following questions though.. How much yeast is in the bottle exactly? How long did you leave the beer in the primary and secondary fermenters? What temperature did the bottles condition at? How does...

Malt liquor discussion and recipe thread.

Oh man, don't remind me! They also make an Old English furniture polish which I'm sure tastes similar. And St Ides....g..o..o..d s..t..u..f..f... Man, I would definitely like to see Krisiun. Sounds awesome. Have fun! :rockin: I just made my first batch of apfelwein today, and I...
