I brew a BVP fairly regularly and have kegged after 4 weeks on some and 6 weeks on others can't tell much difference?

Go to one of the mail order suppliers and read through the extract kits and find one you think you'd like and go for it. Tons of info on this site and good podcasts can be viewed at Basic Brewing, and Brewing TV will make you more comfortable with the process.

The best beer I've drank of any kind ever is Bourbon Vanilla Porter I have kegged right now. I only hope it turns out the same the next time I brew it.

I have just tasted the best beer ever. Made this recipe on May 1 and just got it kegged and carbed and it's the best beer I ever made. Others have very good but this one is great. BTW used pure vanilla extract could not easily locate the beans when I needed them, it is still outstanding.
