It's kind of a new venture for me honestly, lol. I used to dislike Sludge (and most of it's sub-sub-genres) alot but eventually i got into it. I tend to keep up with most new Thrash, Black, Shoegazing, Doom (Funeral, Traditional) and Stoner stuff though. Thanks for the reccomendation though...

Eyehategod, Iron Monkey, Orange Goblin, Yob, Baroness, Electric Wizard, Isis, Weedweater it's what i've been on lately. I realize some of the bands are fusion or more stoner-ish bands, but i've been on a Stoner binge aswell. Cheers.

Thats a great hop. Never really tried it in a brew, but i have had the pleasure of tasting it in a commercial example. It was Brewdog IPA if i'm not mistaken.

What of it depends? The temperatures are within range, it either gells or it doesn't. My only concern was since gellitinization is occurring aswell as mashing, maybe a longer temperature hold was necessary.

Semi conflicting answers it appears. Some say it will gell others say it wont. If the gelling temperature is close to the mashing temperature one would think it would gell the cereals, right? Unless the last poster took it to be something other than oats, barley and wheat.

LOL, i understand the process of malting i just never seen any book refer to gelletinization before so i was wondering if this was done through some additional step. In fact what you're saying seems to be what i was refering to. Still one question remains though, what happens if you don't do...

Yeah and War ensemble is a good thrashy song. Hollowed point might be aswell. But thats expected since it was probably the only two songs Hanneman wrote in the freaking album. 2 out of 11 (or 12, cant remember) is really a bad record and it gets worse on further albums.

Cool. While you are at it, check out the Thrash videos i posted, there might be some stuff there you like. Preferably before listening to the Slayer recording. ;) It's all shredding madness, but i'm sure you can take it. :rockin:

Thats a really mild way of putting it. A big part of defining Thrash is velocity. There just isn't the same style of riffing, the same shreading, drumming, etc. Do you have any examples in mind? Sorry, just no. Also bare in mind, that i'm advocating that all bands have to completely...

And i gave you a loose definition. And as i said, i wish i knew more about technical terms to aptly describe it. Plus i posted alot of videos with stereotypical Thrash. It has to be fast, aggressive, no jumpy jumpy nu-metal style riffing, solid punk base, no lethargically dragging in the riffs...

I see. You're saying it did? But it didn't, thats the point. Not just my definition, which is really not uncommon among Thrashers. And i have never known a Thrasher worth their salt who thought Slayer in the 90's was Thrash. Diabolus? Abyss? Divine intervention? Which album are you looking at...
