    OR/WA Group Brew v3.0

That weekend won't work for me unfortunately. I'll see if I can get with Explosive and work something out; sounds like he's going to be down there anyways.

    OR/WA Group Brew v3.0

I almost forgot about this! I have 5 gallons (and a carboy with a milk crate!) still down there. Without having gone through the last bit of the thread are you getting ready to keg? Is there anything I can do to help out?

about two or three weeks fermentation, three days diacetyl rest, and 6 weeks lagering in the same carboy, no transfer. Edited for spelling.

Um, what did I buy? (plate chiller thing)

I don't know what to do with it, but the seller's name is the best ever.

    Yeast for ESB

Kinda jumping on the bandwagon here, but 1968 was the first yeast that came to mind when I saw you were making an ESB. I also like 1275, its cleaner and more attenuative but still makes a great English beer. Those two strains are my favorite ale yeasts.

    super low alcohol beer

http://www.germandeli.com/4004591065048.html I've had this before, its not bad...too sweet for me. Probably perfect for a kid! Tastes like Munich malt with a bit of Hallertauer.

Planning a Dortmunder, here's what I've got so far

Little late to chime in, but if you want to try a real Dortmunder, Han's Deli in Burien sells DAB in cans, along with a bunch of other German beers.

    cutest dog?

He's actually intent on the squeaky toy that I'm holding about 10 feet or so in front of him. He likes to methodically tear the squeaker out of them, then slowly shred the toy.

They have similar colors and ears, from that picture its really, really easy to mistake them.

    Umami in Beer

Maybe some well aged barleywines or RIS on the yeast? Just a hint of autolysis wouldn't hurt them, I don't think.

    cutest dog?

Haha, he's a french bulldog (he was 6 months old when I took that, so he hadn't filled out yet). H looks like a Boston in that picture.

Seattle to Russian River Beer Pilgrimage - what else lies between?

If you make it to Brooklyn, its just a boat ride over to some good English pubs. Watch out for the glasses though, I hear they break easy.

Seattle to Russian River Beer Pilgrimage - what else lies between?

Actually, I think they have Pliny the Younger on tap at the brewery down there right now. It may make it up toward Seattle sometime this month. You CAN get stuck down in Portland. I spent 4 days down there last year going to breweries and I have a feeling I only scratched the surface.

    Cheers! New shatterproof pint glass.

How did they come to the conclusion that the glasses were the issue? People are getting into fights and using the nearest thing as a weapon. If its not the glass, then they will be breaking chairs over their heads. What is next, are they going to mandate Nerf chairs to protect people?

Anyone else not crazy about New Belgium?

I agree. Fat Tire has changed, or I have. Either way, its just not as....good. I wouldn't call it bad, but it just doesn't have the flavor it used to.
