    Got an e-mail today about one of my fave breweries, the inestimable 3 fonteinen (near Brussels) purveyor of finest geuze and kriek. Apparently, a thermostat blew in one of their packing sheds and 100,000 bottles (50k litres) were heated to 50oC for 36 hours, effectively trashing the contents...

    Hello from the Netherlands

    Greetings fellow brewers - I've been reading this forum for a few days now and am really impressed by the collective wisdom and enthusiasm. I live in the picturesque town of Delft (40 miles SW from Amsterdam) which apparently had 200 breweries at the beginning of the 16th century! Not bad...
