    Best way to add Red

    Looking to make an Oktoberfest recipe have more of a red tint. Would you use Melanoidin or Cara-red? I've never used either one so just looking for opinions.:mug:

    Is this starter still good to go?

    Made a starter for a Rauchbier last thursday. Then I had to go out of town for an unexpected funeral. The started had been on the stirplate for 24 hour. I placed it in the fridge and havent touched it yet. Thinking about brewing again tomorrow. Is it safe to used this starter?
