So.. I am throwing a beer tasting party

My friend and I have been putting on our own little beer fest every year for the past 6 years now. Last year we had 21 different beers. ( I supplied 5 of my own on tap). All are imported or Craft Beer. (ABSOLUTELY NO BMCs) (Side note: My home made Stout won best of show, even without a...

    DIY corny keg cleaner

This is pretty much exactly what I do. every Batch I brew gives me 2 and a half kegs. So I have to clean 3 kegs. I also fixed up an adapter to pressurize my kegs with my air compressor for washing so that I don't waste CO2. A hand pump would do also if I was not so lazy ;-) dp

My name is Michael, and I have a problem...

It's funny, Here in Canada, particularly in New-Brunswick, Beer and Alcohol products are so heavily taxed, that a 12pk of BMC is $20.50:mad: Kilkenny Irish cream ale or Newcaslte Brown Ale = $3 per can. I costs me about $3.40 to make AND serve a 12 pack of most of my beers. Yet...

    finally all coming together

Glad to see it's all coming together. I just ordered some Perlicks from MoreBeer, but I'm having them drop shipped to my Dad's Motorhome in Florida. He won't be back till April... I got 5 kegs a month ago, I think from the same guy... I'm thinking Fire Hydrant ? Right? dp

    Other than Grolsch...

I got my Grolsh Bottles from the Local Bottle Recycler. They sell them for $4 per Doz. Most have the rubber seal that is still good. LHBS sells the seals for the ones that I want to replace. They do need some serious cleaning when from the recycler. dp

    Fridge TOO cold

Does the fridge have a freezer compartment or is it a mini fridge. Many refrigerators with A freezer compartment does have to use and freeze the top Freezer compartment or else it will screw up the temp balance. If not, the the external temp controller sounds like the best option. dp

    First Keg Advice.

+1 on more Kegs. (I have 14 now) 1 5lb CO2 tank for fridge, 1 20lb for carbing and conditioning. If you like variety, plan on many taps/regulators. I only have 2 and am planning on a 5 or 6 Tap Keezer. Plan on setting up a Coat Check. You'll be getting a lot more friends over saying...

    Keg lube

The reason not to use petroleum Jelly type lube is because it will degrade and deteriorate the rubber seals. Water/silicone will not degrade the seals. Go to the Dow Corning Web site and look up Compound 111, I think they call it Valve Lubricant. Works Wonders Compound 111 You can even...

Starting to think I got shorted on CO2

+1 on Above Post. My full tank will say 800 PSI at room Temp. But after in fridge for a day, it goes down to about 500 PSI. If I bring it back out to room Temp, it will climb back up to 800. Also, a CO2 tank will remain at same PSI reading until all the Liquid CO2 has been turned into...

    Beer for the woman

Just Kegged a Blueberry Ale on Saturday. I let my wife smell the Sample I took for the FG Reading. She smelled it, then drank all the sample. yep, still warm and flat. She is now trying to quickly finish the wheat beer left in the keg on her side of the keggorator so that I can put the...

how do I get those disgusting stickers/glue off my cornys??

Yep. that ugly stubborn label is the first think I clean off. I also use a Heat Gun, (Like the one for Paint removal). You must use it with the Keg empty, or the stainless will not heat enough. I use a Little paint scrapper and start at a corner, and then to the whole side. After that start...

About to bottle 15 gals ETA?

A week before bottling I wash my bottles in dishwasher with the Drying cycle on. When I take bottle out of washer I put them into their case and cover with Saran Wrap (Plastic Wrap, cellophane wrap,) however you call it. Stack them in my Brew room. On Bottling Day, I set my Pail of beer on...

    Wow...bottling alone sux!!!

HUmmm, Great idea on the dip tube. I have about 3 or 4 curved ends of racking canes that could be used with a stopper to get the final part of my secondary fermentor buckets without having to tip them. Although, it doesn't take long to dump in a keg, any slight movement at the end of the...

    59L bar Keg

Also, Notice where the white gas line goes into the regulator in your pic, that is the hi-pressur input to the regulator and needs to be either directly screwed into CO2 tank, or get the proper hose. Because regular gas line that we use Post-Regulator will not handle the 800PSI that this hose...
