    Grinding in an apartment

    - Do it outside, in an area where there are no flammables. - Wear safety glasses - Don't fill the keg with water to dampen the noise, very dangerous. Cutting steel with a grinder is loud, deal with it and wear ear plugs

    Grainfather!!

Anyone using the Brew Hardware Hotrod heat stick with their GF Connect? I'm curious if the controller automatically regulates the internal element to compensate for the addition of the Hotrod's heating during the boil cycle? I assume it does but just want to be sure.

New York 12.5 Gallon Stout Tanks Conical Fermenter

Bought this a couple of years ago and have never fully utilized it in my home brewery. It's a nice piece of equipment. https://conical-fermenter.com/12.5-Gallon-Conical-Fermenter.html I'm located in St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada, just 10 minutes from the border in Niagara Falls, NY. I have...

    Grainfather!!

I just picked mine up for 20% off from Northern Brewer ($799 + tax). Seems like they have sales like this all the time. First impressions are wonderful so far. I got a little impatient with the time to get up to mash and boil temps as I'm used to using a propane burner but aside from that...

    Robobrew in Canada?

I was actually going to buy the Robobrew without pump ($299 US on eBay) and add my own higher end pump, recirculation hoses and chiller. It would be slightly more than the buying the Robobrew with pump but you'd have better components in my opinion and still have the benefits of the Robobrew...

New to 110v brewing : Grainfather or new Unibrau V3?

How do you find the pump with the Robobrew? I've thought about buying the unit without pump and using a better pump for the recirculation. Do you find the mash temp set on the controller consistent with actual temp?

New to 110v brewing : Grainfather or new Unibrau V3?

Also interested to see where opinions lie on this as I'm in the same market currently. I've read over all of the threads for similar systems (Robobrew, Mash&Boil, High Gravity). Here is another 110 system that looks decent and really nice price point...

First Brew - Epic Fail or Can it be Saved?

Hi all. Been lurking on the forums for awhile, such an amazing resource of knowledgable people. My dilemma. 16 days ago I brewed up a 5 gallon extract kit. I followed directions but didn't realize I was running out of time (boys championship football game...oops!). I started with 6.5...
