    Hefeweizen Yeast Selection Experiment

I agree with smellyglove, imagine a Hefeweizen grist with a wlp001 california strain? Would not even come close to a Hefeweizen. The main ingredient for a Hefeweizen is the yeast itself, in order my preference from 1 to 3 is in this order as follows. WLP300, WLP380, WLP351. If you want more...

    Pumpkin Numbers?

For my pumpkin ale, I caramelized 2 cans of pumpkin puree for a 5 gallon batch. I used half in the mash the other half at the end of boil in a steep bag. The flavors and aroma were present, so I can safely say this method worked for me.

    coffee beers

I do a cold brew overnight and add it to the purged keg when racking in, whole beans seems to work perfectly for me as it extracts just as much flavor and aroma as grounded coffee, and you will not have to worry about possible hints of green pepper flavor extraction. :mug:

    NEIPA approach to different styles

Anything is possible buddy, a hazy black IPA sounds good with alot of simcoe. WLP008 is what I use for Hazy brews, does not attenuate super dry and it does not flocculate like the other clean strains, leaving a estery fuller body hazy brew.

    Mayweather vs mcgregor circus fight

Mayweather will win, but I am only watching to see if Conor McGregor snaps and either roundhouse kicks Floyd in the face or takes down Mayweather in a submission choke, of course at this point both entourages would rush the ring and we would have a brawl for the ages, hence worth the watch after...

Primary fermentation activity for extract vs all grain

AG and extract should have about the same fermentable sugars. Maybe the yeast viability and cell counts could have been key difference.

Adding coffee to keg after its carbed already

Here is my take. I use about 2oz of Coffee Beans, but I cold press them overnight then pour into keg. Grinding is totally up to you. If you want more a robust and caffeine kick then grind them up and let them sit for 24hrs overnight in the fridge in a french press. If you just want light to...

Local brewery allows employees to smoke while brewing...

Hmmmm smoking in brewhouse = Carafa addition recipe :) . If they want to smoke in the brewhouse that is okay with me, but I just will not buy their brew.

S.M.A.S.H Brew with El Dorado or Galaxy?

I need to restock my fridge soon, so I decided to brew with LME Pilsen Malt and WLP001 California Ale Yeast from White Labs. The problem I am having is choosing the hops to brew with. I have never used El Dorado or Galaxy, and I just received these hops. Any input on which hop I should use...

    Extract brewing is FAKE brewing

I have heard of many brewers and homebrewers on both sides, but here is my take. I am a AG Brewer and I love the work, but sometimes I do not have a lot of time to brew an all grain batch, so I experiment with LME batches to hone in on my hop styles or recipes and dry hopping techniques, while...

One gallon batch. Secondary or no?

Since your dealing with only a 1 gallon batch I would say No. Racking to secondary will risk losing even more volume when racking from secondary to bottling, and risk of oxidation, and more work that is not needed. Just relax and enjoy the primary brotha :mug:

    Costco/Kirkland brand craft beer

I bought this for our camping trip because of the price. I thought it was okay, but I agree the IPA was my least favorite out of the pack, kept on handing those off first to someone else when beer was requested ;)

Ideas on adding cucumber to a pilsner

If anything, they might be pasteurizing the cucumbers juice, making it consumable without any off flavors.
