My wife recently went on a road trip through the West Coast and brought me back a ton of awesome beer. Tonight I'm drinking Knee Deep Citra Extra Pale Ale, Blind Pig IPA, and Heretic. Evil Cousin. I have to say, I almost like the Pig better than Pliny.

The guys at my LHBS use that setup for their coolers and told me the only issue they have is sometimes the spigot knob tries to rise up out of the handle when it gets too hot. Other than that, they have no issues. I don't know if I'd be comfortable using them, but thought the info would be useful

I've used them twice now as an aroma hop and I love them. Along with Falconers Flight, they are my new favorite hop

I've also had all three on tap. Don't like them. I'm not a huge Pilsner fan or Saaz hops fan. That's what really kills Urquell for me.

Yeah its the Rubbermaid ones. They're the only place I could find the screw on top version too, so I guess I'm going to have to rig it up somehow and just make it work

.....yeah, its the same size opening. I already checked. So that's not gonna help me much.

I picked up 2 5gal coolers at Home Depot, but the diameter of the hole where the spout is is much larger than every cooler mash tun build I've seen. The opening is just over 1/2" in diameter and I can't find anything to fit snugly in it. All parts are 1/2" or 3/4" so I'm stuck. Any ideas?

I know that Rogue has used Newport hops in some of their brews. I also plan to grow these and some Centennial next year. I love me some Fuggles and the Newport sounds interesting, so why not?

I usually just wrap a wet towel around my carboy and that helps keep the temp around 70-72 with no problem.

I've brewed this recipe, but couldn't find the cocoa that Cat used. I tried Here's and it was too bitter. I used 8oz of cacao nibs the second time and it was fantastic. 8oz is a lot, but the taste was amazing. Love this brew. Thanks Cat

I was planning on planting this year, but held off because of the heat. I guess I was wrong to wait. :) Paul, have you tried using Blood Meal, Bone Meal, or maybe a manure/compost mix to give more nutrients to your plants? They may just be having a hard time getting what they need out of the soil.
