Do you have to rinse after using PBW

I made a batch yesterday and flushed my mash tun with pbw with my recirculating pump. I drained everything then flushed is again with hot water and rinsed everything. My question is, will there be PBW in the nooks and crannies of my pump or will the water flush rinse that away?

    Induction Burner Recommendations?

I think what I was looking for was a better way to control temps like a sous vide. With a sous vide you can control mash and strike temp to the almost exact temperature but with Induction I guess its the same as gas and stove top. Thanks for the info. I was given a sous vide and an induction...

    Induction Burner Recommendations?

My question is this: would you use an induction plate for heating strike and mash water? I am asking to see if you can get the mash and strike water to the temperature you need rather then heating it up ont he gas burner or electric stovetop.

    Crazy long lag time

I am really happy I found this thread. I just made a Neipa yesterday. 1.051 OG 19L 20C pitched WLP095 package with no starter. Aerated the wort for 5 minutes. Normally I see fermentation by the next morning but this morning when I got up there was nothing in the airlock moving at all. I...

    WLP677 Lag time

Checked the pH today and it was 3.5. Boiled for 30 minutes, chilled it and pitched my yeast. It is a culture of a 34/70 and wlp029. I like the way it finishes. It gives it a nice clean bready flavor without the lager taste.

    WLP677 Lag time

Thanks. I was worried because I have seen other posts about WLP677 making a krausen. Ive been monitoring the pH every 2 days and checking. Starting pH was 5.5, this morning it was 5.3

Strange, floating, spongy, tub looking iceburgs...

This helps a lot. I made a Kolsch last week and it fermented really fast (it was in a bucket) When I went to rack to secondary there were these white floaty things all over the place and I wondered if maybe the batch went bad. When I racked it I was careful not to put any of these into the...

Comparison of mash tun insulation methods

I did this with the water heater wrap but I bought double sided velcro to get it on and off easier and not have it rip when taking off the tape.

    4 Popular Brew Kettles Compared

Im looking into upgrading from my 5 gallon pot to an 8. I brew on my stove top (electric) I mostly brew 5 gallon batches (18.5L) and I probably wont brew more then that for now. Should I go with an 8 gallon or a 10?

    Blueberry beer

I had 2000ml of wort left over after my boil and added 20ox (1.25 lbs) to the secondary this morning. This is the same wort that I made my IPA with but I wanted to leave a little more room in the primary for krausen because the last time I brewed AI had a blowoff so I put this into a 2000ml...

I use Irish Moss in the boil in the last 15 minutes. Would you say to use it when transferring to the secondary?

I normally try to make a few bottles at the end of my bottling day and make "T" on them as testers and open them each one week apart to see how carbonation is going.

    Stir Bar Problems

I have the same problem. Yesterday it was spinning great! Today it spins then bounces all over the flask. So today I bought smaller and larger bars. Also what really worked was to turn it on with the speed on low, get teh bar spinning for a few seconds enough to make a small funnel, turn it...
