I’ve been wanting to do BIAB more and more but I could never find the size bag for my cooler.
My Brewpot has no insulation so I am not even considering that.
I inquired with Brülosophy about where they purchase their BIAB bags.
If anyone is interested.

I’ve always suspected that my bottling bucket may not be accurate but I never took the time to actually measure it precisely against the actual markets.
The other day, I decided to take the time and do it.
I used a very accurate Pyrex glass 1qt measuring vessel.
I checked the 1/2 gallon mark...
I recently went to my LHBS to inquire about BIAB size options.
There were some large volumes but the consistent theme was they were all deep but not wide.
I don’t want to mash in my kettle. It does not retain heat well.
My mash tun is a wide igloo cooler like the one in the picture. 25gal...
I built an el-cheapo heat stick. And it functions well and does what I need.
But I would like to build something more like what is in these pictures.
Any ideas or links would be helpful.
Thanks
Uh oh.
I wanted to do a Diacetyl Rest, but Krausen dropped out last night some time.
I JUST cranked the control temp up (from 52˚F-ish) to 65˚F.
Questions:
1) Am I too late?
2) Is that the correct temperature?
Thanks
Can anyone provide a Reliable Refractometer (post-fermentation) adjustment calculator or formula?
FYI.
I searched the forums but none of the results were helpful at all.
I brewed my first lager yesterday. Nothing fancy. Just a first attempt at a style.
Yeast: Wyeast 2007
I made a yeast starter that was 100% active when I pitched it. (56°F)
The wort is at a steady 54-56 (depending on how you read the temp strip).
I pitched the yeast 6:00pm on Saturday
It is...
I brewed a 5gal pale ale yesterday.
I used Fermex yeast nutrient.
The package says 1tsp per gal.
So basically 5tsp for this batch
I think that may have been too much, after some post brew day research.
How much SHOULD I have used?
Will the amount that I used be completely detrimental? Or...
I will be brewing a Russian Imperial Stout this weekend and need a recommendation for a good yeast.
My LHBS only sells Wyeast so I need to stick with recommendations within that brand.
Some tips though.
I’d like to stay away from anything with licorice flavors.
I'm looking at 2 different Temperature controllers that I found on Amazon through recommendation.
I cannot really find a good description of the differences between these two. Even in the Amazon descriptions of the products.

A few years back, I did a dorm fridge-to-kegerator conversion (Pictured Below)
It worked fine but was inconvenient and sometimes a mess.
I moved to a new house a few years ago. The house came with a fridge and we kept the fridge from our old house which is currently in the garage doubling as...
I am going to be brewing a Russian Imperial Stout.
I want A LOT of chocolate character.
Any suggestions on how much to add?
When to add? (Mash, boil, 2ndary, bottling)
What type to add? (Powder, Semi sweet, Cocoa nibs, bakers bitter)
Thanks
I'm going to be brewing a sacrilegious beer.
A non-alcoholic Russian Imperial Stout.
I know I know. Aside from the jokes... My question is:
What temperature do I heat the post-fermented beer?
Addendum:
I plan to cut the batch in half. The taste test side by side to see the difference.
I read recently (but cannot find definitive documentation) that when I'm trying to calculate the correct amount of priming sugar, I need to take in to consideration the temperature of the beer.
But...
Not the temperature that it is currently at, but the temperature at which the primary...
I always see this term thrown around but no one has ever been able to give me a 100% definitive answer as to what that means.
I've heard:
1) It's genetically modified with a high carbohydrate ratio compared to non-modified grains of yesteryear.
2) The process for malting the grains is just so...
I am converting my side-by-side stand up full-sized beer fridge to include a couple tap handles.
It is big enough to house a couple kegs AND the CO2 tank.
Optimally, Should the CO2 tank be in the fridge?
Question:
Has anyone ever used these Icehouse 42oz plastic bottles for bottling?
They are nearly identical to the Mr. Beer bottles that come with the kit.
Why do I ask? Why do I have these?
Since May (2017) I have been spending the summer losing weight and have been staying away from...
