How much rice hulls should I use for my Ryesing Sun Wheat?

My LHBS buys them in bulk and will sell you as little or as much as you want. As a matter of fact, one day someone came in and wanted 20lbs... nothing else. Just 20 lbs of rice hulls.

Need a small keg for making seltzer. Does a <1gal keg exist?

I want to make seltzer, but I don't want (or need) to make it in 5-gal batches in a soda keg. I want a small -- for lack of a better term -- "keg" that will accept a pin-lock fitting from C02 tank and has another fitting for a tap. There are tons of little seltzer bottles on the market, but...

    Central NJ

Personally, I think their prices are pretty good! Bulk extract is $75 for a jerry can. That's pretty much going rate on the HB websites I've visist. The little things (airlocks, stoppers, etc.) seem very inexpensive to me. Since I'm a partial masher, I never really spent much time analyzing...

Greetings from Dirty Jerz! "Consuming Local" got me brewing

My wife and I started a kick last year to try to only consume things that were local and sustainable. (Read Animal Vegetable Miracle). So far, the fuel for our car comes from the fryers of local restaurants; we started eating only meat from local farms; we make our own cheese and yogurt. And as...

Is it a full time job keeping up with the n00bs?

I'm another one of those people with a low post count that spends a lot of time here. It seems that every possible question that I have come up with so far has been posted, answered and discussed -- usually with in the last couple of days! :mug:

Not sure why, but I added Vanilla!

I just did a Rye Bock with vanilla beans. One at boil and one with the aroma hops. I'll report back as it progresses. Make sure the vanilla beans are nice and plump. Pass on anything hard or dry feeling. Depending on where you shop, you might pay a premium for real beans. $5 or more each...
