15.5 Gallon Sankey Electric Brew Rig-Walnut Creek, CA

I have three, but one is rubber top and bottom-Would work well for an electric application, but not for gas. @ Bruin Ale-Good luck, hit me up if you need help or to "contract out" a piece of your Rig.

    RIMS for Dummies

I used a 1" half coupling from More Beer which worked perfectly. I had it welded on the kettle, which is more expensive, but I have never had any problems with my element leaking and I can tighten it down tight without fear of leaks. QUESTION What settings are people running their PID's...

    RIMS for Dummies

Yeah, I have a little more than half of your power available and its not a problem. I am running the water through somewhat slowly, but at a perfect rate for fly sparging. You could probably get by with using one of your elements in your RIMS system. 20 degree F raise in temp at max flow is...

    RIMS for Dummies

I am speaking from limited experience here as I just built my system and have been testing this past weekend. First, for reference, I have a 5500 low density element running 220V through 2" stainless Steel. I am using an Auber PID with fuzzy logic (the $44.50 one I believe). I have yet to...

    Flash boiler

Awesome job, I bet it speeds up brew day by a good amount. Combine this with brew in a bag and you could prob. Brew in a few hours total.

    30g Plastic Conical "Build"

its pretty easy to rig the freezer door, I did it to my upright freezer. There were a bunch of screws all around the door, under the weatherstriping stuff on the door. Take them all off and mark your holes on a sheet of plastic cut to the same dimensions. I got a piece of 1/8" plastic from...

    Erlenmeyer Flask on Electric Stove

I use a $20 dollar hot plate from walmart that has a cast heating element on top and it has worked fine so far. I have avoided using my glass cooktop stove and any bare element. For $20 you should be safe going this route.

How To Make A 15 Gallon Fermenter

Anybody know where to source a flange like this? I would love to have at least one big fermenter for my bigger brews instead of splitting up to multiple carboys. Brewhead-Any chance the friend of yours can point us in the right direction for sourcing these flanges?

What to use for control box on E-brewery build

I could have been easily mistaken. All of the diagrams I had seen before building my set up used 120 to power up the PID. I thought this was neccessary so I replicated it. My set up works for me, especially because I use a 30 amp circut and pretty much max it out with my E-Kettle. I am glad...

What to use for control box on E-brewery build

If you can run something on lower voltage why wouldn't you? On top of that how would you regulate down the amount of power going into the tiny PID controller. I don't claim to be an electrician, but there is a reason there are adapters for most small electrical devices to regulate the power...
