Been doing it all wrong I guess

They know. I was under the impression the way they brew they actually make a 8% and then cut it with water to make the end product.

    Buying Beer As A Homebrewer

Cost is a *****. Current economic situation made me stop homebrewing and got me to get a job at a craft brewery. The benefits are double for me. I get free beer, they pay me, and I work under the head brewer, who has taken a liking to my extreme work ethic, and I get to learn more everyday...

Hot Rod heat stick performance example

Oh, there is an inkbird controller for 100 bucks that can control one stick. If you pump your wort through your immersion chiller while it sits in your boil kettle or hlt now you have precise temp control.

Hot Rod heat stick performance example

I have 2 1650w elements in my kettle and hlt. Cheap effective and better than gas. Good on you for making the step to electric brewing!

Help Selecting a Fermenter: Delta FermTank?

Any stainless bucket with a sealing lid will work great. I used Chapman buckets ($100 each) for years. Only recently went on to a conical and I sometimes wonder if the buckets were slightly easier since they are more simple. Just wish they could hold pressure for cold crashes.

1/2 bbl Sanke Coversion to Corny Project

Well that doesn't look hard at all, or you made it look too easy. Good work.

Primary / Dry Hop / Cold Crash / Keg Process Flow - what works best?

1 yes big no no for me 2 why? If it's for clogging reasons I'd rather rethink my racking process instead personally. Like adding a filter or float pick up tube. 3 I ferment, cold crash and hop at the same time (takes 3 days to drop from fermenter Temps to 36f) I also semi carb during this period...

HERMS coil used as immersion chiller

I run my wort through my herms coil and fill the hlt with ice blocks. Works better than my cfcs ever did. The larger diameter keeps the whirlpool strong and at the end I fill my fermenter with the wort exiting the hlt and it is in the 60s.

1bbl brew house from 200 lts Stainless barrels Question.

What type of build are you going with? I would not want to clean out a mash tun that size from the top.

Conical owners - should I pull the trigger?

Conical are cool but heavier than a stainless bucket. I have both and use both. I like buckets better but mine don't hold pressure.
