    We in our HBC have been thinking about doing this. We can get kegs from Kona Brewing here.. We got a stainless welder in the club thats gun ho to do it.. Seems pretty simlpe to make if you can get the kegs easily..

    no 4 months total from the day i make the mead. This is a mead after only 2 months in the conical and 1 month in carboy.

    friend of mine made a lime mead.. was outstanding. 1 quart of fresh lime from his tree. 18p honey to make 5 gallons. I'm actually going to do one soon. This year at our brew fest. A lemon lime ginger mead won the show..

    What vessel do you age in??

    I do mine in mini brew conicals.. age for 2 months in them, then rack off in carboys so i have room to make more mead.. I then bottle from the carboys depending on clarity. I wait till it's crystal clear .. usually only takes 4 months till bottle.. i got 34 gallons going at the moment..:D

    Tasted this mead recently.. WAYYYY too much Lavender in there.. It was too overpowering for me. Very light on the lavender and semi sweet would be the way they should have gone. After drinking a glass of that.. I don't think i could ever drink lavender again.. lol.. It ruined me it was that...

    The mead i did in it, was in there for two months before i racked it off to other fermenters to make some fruit meads. They taste great.. actually entering my Blueberry mead next week in the homebrew comp.

    Sorry guys.. have been busy and not much internet time. I have done three brews in this thing.. (sorry no pics but i'm sure you can get the picture of wort in the tank.. lol ) 2 beers and 1 mead. I'm about to do a port wine in it. I'll snap some pics off when i do that.. might even be tonight...

    my 7 1/2 gal batch of watermelon mead is almost done clarifying. and the taste results are a total HIT.! This is a awesome tasting mead. I started out with just honey and water. 18 pounds of Christmas berry local honey from the island. (I don't add heat to my honey ever) mixed up a 8 gal batch...

    Carbonation and Mead

    I have not personally done it. But a guy in our club does it a lot. he bottles at 1.020 with no bottle bombs.. he did how ever have bottle bombs when he bottled at a 1.040. So now he sticks to 1.020. But you are right. it really is not accurate.

    you can have a carbonated mead by simply bottling it at a 1.020 gravity. and using D1118 yeast.

    Was at my friends house last night, and they brewed a lavender mead.. I tasted the must before it went into the fermenter, and WOW.! what an amazing taste that was.. first time for all of us tasting this. But have heard of people doing it with great results. They steeped a big bag of lavender...

    Dry Hopping a Wheat?

    It's not something that is usually hoppy.. I have tasted a dry hopped wheat and liked it. So i say go for it and tell us how it went.. I'm a hop head anyway. :mug:

    when i am done bottling, I bleed off the small amount left of yeast and then i bottle the rest.. i set these bottles aside and they are carbed up faster and ready to drink cause it has more yeast in it.. i just fill up a container with the last of it and pore into bottles.. you can get about 10...
