    SMaSH recipes

Not only that, but what about the hop schedule? Bittering, flavor, aroma, dry hop. A lot of variables. I made a pale ale malt/Williamette Smash that is wonderful. A pale ale malt/Amarillo Smash is keg conditioning as I speak.

Will it go flat without CO2 line?

I don't know why yours has leaks, but here is what I experienced. I bought a valve/backflow from an online vender (cheap chinese crap!). Didn't have a problem with it being off or on, but noticed, several months down the road, that if I didn't have it "full on" or "full off", it hissed. I...

Where have all the great deals on Cornys gone?

About 3 weeks ago I bought 4 single handle kegs for $5 apiece at a swap meet. I just successfully tested one overnight after replacing the post gaskets with o-rings. I should have bought his other 3 -4. But I have 9 so that should be good.

    IIPA Hop Help

Basically, would they play nice together for bitter, in combo with Centennial for flavor, and Simcoe/Amarillo for aroma/dry hopping??

    IIPA Hop Help

Would it be okay to use Chinook in combo with Simcoe for bittering?

    IIPA Hop Help

I didn't necessarily mean to use Williamette or Cascade, just pointing out that I had them. What amount of IBUs should I target for the bittering? I may not have more than an ounce of Chinook. If not what else would work? I have Cluster (similiar to Galena) as well.

    IIPA Hop Help

What would be a good bittering target, from what I gather, about 40-45 IBUs? I want a hop bomb, not a bitter bomb!

    IIPA Hop Help

I have some hops I want to use up and the desire to do an IIPA. I will use pale malt and C40. I plan for it to be 7-8% and 85-100 IBUs, think Hop Stoopid!. I am not concerned if it is exactly true to standard. My hops to choose from: Chinook Simcoe Centennial Cascade Williamette...

    20%abv beers and using dextrose

I used 23 odd pounds of barley, that was base and specialty grains, and once it was settling down I fed it twice with equal amounts of dme, organic cane sugar, and turbinado sugar for a total of 4.5 additional pounds. I don't have my stats handy, but altogether came in at 18% with 110 ibus. My...

    Barleywine---1.107 to 1.004??

The hydro is kaput. After reading an above post, I experimented with it, and noticed a bit of water in the bottom. I had dropped the beaker with the hydro in it a couple of days previous. It appeared to be un-damaged. I still hadn't noticed the damage when I tested my bw. I didn't think it...

    Barleywine---1.107 to 1.004??

It is only a week from the boil, so it is hotter than a $2 pistol. I'm just hoping it won't be too dry. Aging will tell.

    Barleywine---1.107 to 1.004??

I mashed 11.5 lbs. pale ale malt .8 lbs C-20 .4 lbs C-40 .25 ;bs. Caravienna 85 IBUs worth of hops 2 hours at 149*. I boiled 6.5 gallons down to 4 (purposely) 1 packet of re-hydrated Notty with a couple of scoops of "conditioned" Notty thrown in for good measure. After...
