    Fermentation chamber temp fluctuation

I just copied and pasted this from his site, not sure if there was a different way to share this. | ALE FERMENTATION SCHEDULE | 1. Chill wort to target fermentation temp (66°-68°F/19˚-20˚C)), place in temp controlled environment, attach insulated temp probe to side of fermentor, and...

    Fermentation chamber temp fluctuation

I'm doing an ale right now. I have been following the brulosophy fermentation schedule for my last few brews and they have all turned out well so I am sticking to it.

    Fermentation chamber temp fluctuation

Well I hooked the heater up because the controller could control a heating device, and also I was worried about overshooting and getting it too cold. After some more thinking and the wise words here it seems that during active fermentation it will naturally warm it up anyways if I overshooting...

    Fermentation chamber temp fluctuation

Hmmm. Wish I would have researched this a little more before I drilled a hole in my fermenter to install the thermowell. I have looked into building a BrewPi setup but with a little one on the way my money has gotten a little tighter. Maybe this Auber controller will be a better more cost...

    Fermentation chamber temp fluctuation

Thanks for the help. I will go look at the manual and find the setting for the heating and cooling delay. I'm not sure what the ambient air temperature is inside the freezer once the freezer kicks off because I don't have a thermometer reading that. Hopefully that cycle delays will prevent this...

    Fermentation chamber temp fluctuation

So I have a chest freezer that I am using as a fermentation chamber. I have that plus a ceramic heater with a built in fan plugged into a Keg King MkII controller. Also inside the chest freezer is a computer fan that is constantly on to circulate the air inside of the freezer. I have a Speidel...

Coleman 52 quart conversion to mash tun

Looking to convert my own 52qt Coleman Xtreme into a mash tun but was wondering if you would upgrade to the "cooler size" option or the "thick bulkhead" size? Thanks for the help.

    First BrewPi setup questions.

Hi all. So I am still in the research phase but am planning to upgrade from my chest freezer with a Johnson A419 controller currently used for fermentation, to a BrewPi fridge setup. I currently ferment in both a SS Brewtech Brew Bucket (Brewmaster Edition with a thermowell) and a Speidel...

    Dry Hop Timing Question?

I have a general question that might be able to be answered here. If I was going to dry hop 4 days prior to cold crashing, would I remove the hops added for dry hopping prior to cold crashing, or just leave them in throughout the dry hop and cold crash process? I will be placing the hops in a...

    When to add extract question

Okay thank you for the info. I guess that makes sense. I was just thinking that with more water to start with, the dilution of the extract would be higher so scorching would be less of an issue.

    When to add extract question

I am still a beginner brewer with about 10 extract brews under my belt so far. I recently received a DVD copy of "How to Brew with Malt Extract" by John Palmer and Brad Smith, and at the end one of the things that was talked about was only adding about half of your extract at the beginning and...
