Yep it has to have been that, the measurements were right on and i do everything as per my the instructions atm not having a clue, so the samples i took to test were obviously thicker than other areas.
Thanks for that post Revvy, it helped greatly.
Thanks RM, yes you are correct, and thanks for clarifying that point. As i said, its just what 'I' do atm, and the reason being is because my knowledge and experience wasnt there with the entry level beer brewing that i currently do. I had read in another thread elsewhere here where many people...
Thanks, when i did the OG, it was well stired, no issues, as i put both worts on at the same time, did the other one first, no issues, then was shooooocked to see the gravity on the other!!! Its the darndest thing, no clue!
I must have done something wrong!
Two brews i have on atm have finished fermenting. I just took a FG reading and added finings to clarify before i bottle at 4 weeks.
1) Coopers Australian Pale Ale OG-1.042 - FG-1.010
As far as my calculations go, its somewhere around 4% ABV
2)...
From my limited understanding and experience, a general rule i follow is to let my brew sit in primary for 4 weeks before bottling, and then let the bottles sit for another 4 weeks.
My question here is, how many people have opened a bottle after 4 weeks and found it to not taste right, or be...
Hi all, im looking for ways to eliminate bottle sediment. I generally only use a primary for brewing, prime the bottles and bottle it. Would racking into a secondary, adding priming sugar, dissolving and then bottling help? Other ways appreciated thanks
Hi all, just wondering about the methods members use to keep their brews at temperatures they want them at, from primary fermentation to bottling.
Where i am, we are 4 seasons, and it can get very hot and dry to very cold (not snow) and windy etc. If im going to brew all year round, it would...
Thanks again RM, ill check the gravity after 2 weeks.
Correct me if im reading this wrong, but the kit most possibly added an 'ale' yeast, and if i were to use a 'lager' yeast the cervaza might be closer to a corona or mexican type of beer?
Its interesting to hear about the clear bottles...
Tonight i got the Mexican Cervasa bottled, so will sit that out for 4 weeks to mature before i refrigerate a couple and see how they turn out, awful pale brew, hope it turns out alright. This is meant to be the Corona, or Mexican beer type, but they never turn out the same. I hope i don't end up...
oh wow! thanks heaps for that, i knew about the basic ingredients in all grain, like the barley and the hops and yeast but i have not studied up on the processes. Currently im using the hopped malt extracts and working my way through various recommended cans, whilst trying others from my brew...
lol, its too pretty to be a flower pot. It fits real good into the standard fridge though, but at 10ltrs its not enough for a brew on its own, being that i can be a little lazy and the canned goo comes ready for 23ltrs.
If i get my head around the brewing science i will definately look at...
Great, thanks once again, still trying to get the terminology worked out, not sure what an 'extract kit' is, i am currently using the canned goo that comes with its own yeast packet and just add in a kg of the Mangrove Jacks Brew Blend No 15 to replace dextrose or otherwise at the moment. It all...
