    National Homebrew Competition 2019

KC and Indy judge this weekend and Philly has two cider flights and 1 beer flight to finish. Got a 2nd with Apple Pie cider.

    Hard lemonade / Skeeter 4 Summer 2019

I do one batch for home in the summer and another batch for the New England Homebrewer's Jamboree in September (weekend after Labor Day so still hot enough for lemonade). One year, one of my club members mixed it with my Black Cherry cider for someone and now it is a regular at our club booth!

I just hope all the people that are verifying results aren't at CBC in Denver ;)

Both of my Finals medals were first round lagers that I did not rebrew.

I normally enter the KC region (even though I'm in NH) because I've always done well there and in the KCBM comp. The late date was part of the reason I didn't enter there.

Octoberfest ESB American Amber Specialty Cider I doubt I'll rebrew if anything gets through...just don't have the space or time to brew new batches.

Got my email from the AHA yesterday saying judging has been completed. I would expect middle to end of next week for results to be posted. Philly is judging at 9am today and only have 4 tables to finish, so by next weekend for them I would guess too

    NHC Results

Last year it was about a week, except for a couple regions that didn't finish on time. I believe Philly still had some entries from the weekend but were expecting to have them done by next weekend. There were also 5 regions judging this weekend, so the AHA folks will need time to get them into...

And that's assuming they finished. There is a ton of work that goes into this comp and if they don't have enough judges, they may have to finish up the following weekend. Philly also judged this past weekend so they may have split the judging pool for the area. Anyone know if NY finished this...

    Grainfather!!

I'd say that was about the same for me. I usually brew in the morning so I try to do my grains and water the night before. I may hook mine up to a timer and have it start warming water before I get up. I've also experimented once with cold water sparge after reading the Brulosphy...

    Grainfather!!

Nothing different than any other batch. I boiled only 60 minutes and still had a ton of wort left over. Probably should have gone another 30 minutes because my OG was a little low, but I was already planning a 30 minutes whirlpool and didn't want to drag the day out any longer. Did the same...

    Grainfather!!

I just did a batch in my GF that had 16 lbs ( 1.5 lbs was flaked oats) and I added a 1/2 lb for rice hulls. The mash was getting really close to the top, so I don't expect I could have gone much higher on the grain bill. My mash efficiency was 77.5% so I was very pleased.

    The 2016 NHC - Results/Speculation Thread

I also got my 2nd place box and had everything shown. My hops were HBC-366 (Equinox). Can't wait to try them out.

    The 2016 NHC - Results/Speculation Thread

I get mine on July 5th. I'm more interested in the scoresheets than the prizes but the canister filter system will be converted into a nice Randall. I'm from New England....we don't filter our beers :D
