    Arrogant Bastard Clone help

Hi I am trying to perfect an Arrogant Bastard clone. After listening to JZ's brewcast, and brewing Yooper's crystal 120 Clone I am hoping to make an amalgam. I'd like to substitute some of my raisins, I mean Crystal 120 for some Crystal 150. Here is the bill I used for my previous version...

Mixing two beers - different gravities

I have a bit of a conundrum. I currently have 12 gallons of Czech pilsner. They are divided into 6 gallon batches. After 4 weeks at 52 F, one has a gravity of 1.029 the other has a gravity of 1.015. The lower gravity batch is crystal clear, and probably ready to lager. I don't know why they...

I am looking for suggestions on the best way to mount taps inside a standard refrigerator. We may want to sell the fridge at some point and want to avoid drilling through the door. Tips, pics, and suggestions would be great!

    Nasty Cobra Taps

Hi, I am really tired of these nasty cobra taps spilling beer all over my refrigerator. I would like to eliminate them from the fridge but would prefer not to drill holes. I have looked into faucets that mount directly to the keg and at the epoxy mixer inserts. Will this work to keep beer at...

Keggle parts list for welded fittings

Hi, I recently got a sanke from a local club member. I found a great welder who can provide sanitary welds at a $60/hour rate. Obviously, I would like to minimize his time. I would like to cut the top off, and step drill the holes to mount a spigot and one of BobbyM's welded sightglass kits...

Not sure if I buy it but I got it from the NYtimes archives. [Yeah, yeah, save it for the debate forum ;)] I must have put Snake instead of Sanke.

    Multiple Dry Hop Additions

I am brewing an IPA. The recipe calls for 0.5 oz Cascade, 1.0 oz Centennial, 0.25 oz Simcoe, and 0.25 oz Amarillo. Does the order of addition matter? Should they be added separately every two weeks with the previous addition being removed? Does any of this matter?

    Root beer kegging problem

I am having trouble with my corny of root beer. It still has around 1/3 of a tank. I have the pressure set at 40 PSI and have around 30-35 ft of line (3/16 ID). It worked reasonably well for the first 2/3 of the corny but now it seems to come out in spurts of foam. I have tried bleeding the...

    Best Recipe Book

I am looking for your best recommendation for a recipe book. I have Brewing Classic Styles and I find that when I use that book I get a good beer that is appropriate to style but not really unique. Do you have a book where every recipe you have brewed from it was unique and fantastic?

Intentionally Infected - Should I ditch it?

Hi. I am posting this here since the question: "Should I throw it out?" is automatically a beginner question. I brewed the Impatient Man's Lambic which is posted on the green board (down at the moment). I let it sour for 24 hours using a bag of grain. I then boiled it. It smelled like...

    Lab Thermometers

Does anyone use liquid thermometers in mashing? Does anyone know their accuracy? For example, I used this one Spirit Filled Thermometer for mashing this weekend. It is partial immersion, and fairly fast responding when immersed up to the measurement ring. (You just have to make sure...

    Changing temperatures

I had some friends over this weekend and for the first time, served beer out of my keg. Spring is coming here so while I was using my cold garage to maintain serving temperatures I am now resorting to ice. My question is this, will I ruin my beer by moving the keg back to my cellar after it...

    Anyone use the Bayou SP1

Its sold here: Amazon.com: Bayou Classic SP1 Jet Cooker: Patio, Lawn & Garden and seems like a pretty good deal. I found threads comparing this to a KAB5 but no one in that thread had used this burner. Bayou's description of the SP1: "The Bayou Classic High Pressure Propane Jet Burner...
