    Hi From Sacramento-ish, CA

    Long time lurker, first time poster here from Mather, CA. I've been brewing off and on since the late '90's, but I'm only just now starting to get more serious about it. Aside from brewing, I enjoy cooking, all things outdoorsy, and um, drinking beer.

    Ireland and Germany

    I can't speak to Germany, but Ireland is actually pretty bland, beer-wise, from what I remember. Last time I was there (2009), pretty much every pub and restaurant we visited had some variation on the same selection: Guinness (or Murphy's, or Beamish, depending on what city we were in)...
