    Do you REALLY need to keep bottles in the dark?

    So I was always told that while bottles are carbing up you're supposed to keep them in the dark. BUT if I am using brown bottles, do you really need to? Don't wanna waste a batch of beer but anyone ever carb them up on just an open shelf (i.e. not in the dark)?

    Castle Malting Addon - Wrong SG Calculation?

    Does this mini fridge had a compressor hump?

    Forgot to turn my stir plate on for 12 hours...whats my cell count?!

    So I'm making a fake octoberfest using kolsch yeast and so its REALLY important I have a large and healthy starter. Yesterday I made a 1.5L starter and put it on my stir plate without turning it on until this morning. The Krausen had already came and went already...will turning it on still...
