    White Labs Yeast Blob (Picture)

I brewed 10G of Biermuncher's Helles Belles yesterday. Pitched White Labs 029 Kolsch yeast (1 vial into each carboy). Pitching temp around 75 degrees or so. This morning I looked into my freezer/fermenter (68 degrees in there all night). The carboy on the left seems fine, not fermenting...

    Green Beer: Cold Temps OK?

If you have green beer, does it need to condition at "room temps" to loose its green characteristics, or if you keep it at serving temp will the green dissipate? Does the temp of the beer matter? I've made my second batch of Belgian Wit. I hear that it's good to drink it young, but again I've...

    Corny Keg as Primary

I've read a few posts about this, and I'm convinced that I'm going to use corny kegs for primaries and secondaries, but still have one question that's bugging me: Does anyone use a corny as a primary, and how much wort do you put in there? I'm willing to modify my recipes for 4.0-4.5G batches...

    Dry Hopping in Keg Question

I brewed a keg of pale ale. It's been aging for 6 weeks. I dropped a stainless herb ball into the keg with 1 oz of Cascade pellets. A few days later I tasted the beer. It had a very intense, almost medicine like taste. I ended up pulling the hop ball out of the keg, and the beer tastes...

    IPA Recipe 1st Shot

This is my first attempt to produce a recipe using the hops I have at home, using Beersmith. What do you think of this recipe? 5 Gallon Recipe for IPA: Steep: 1 lbs Caramel/Crystal Malt - 20L (20.0 SRM) Grain 1 lbs Munich Malt (9.0 SRM) Grain Boil: 6 lbs Extra Light Dry Extract...

Keg in fridge with off flavor

I have a Belgian wit in the kegorator, first pint tasted off, seems like possibly fusel alcohol issues. I fermented the beer at temp too high (near 80 degrees probably). Yes I'm a noob. I left in primary for 10 days, then secondary for 5 weeks, then kegged/cooled. I'm going to give it some...

    Kegging Aging vs. Conditioning Question

I'm going to start kegging soon, but one part is not clear to me..... When I bottle, I leave the bottles "conditioning" for 3 weeks on average, and it was my impression that this was for two reasons. 1) carbonation via the priming sugar process and 2) developing the proper beer...

    1/2" Valve to Nipple question

I'm converting a keggle with ss ball valve and nipple on outside. The nipple doesn't completely screw into the valve, only about 3/4 of the way. I was wondering if this is normal or if I might have a stuck part. I would try to return the part since it's so expensive, but i've seen some pics...
