This is very interesting, If your saying raking to a secondary yields more sediment falling out than what would have fallen that week if it had not been raked.

Some of you mentioned letting the gelatin cool before you add it to the beer. wont diluting it into gallons of cold/or room temp beer do that?
if it is necessary to cool it first what temp is "cool" ?

I recently added about 6oz of coca nibs to about 4 gallons of stout in a corny keg at work. Over the top chocolate in under a week ! The nibs were available at the local food co-op.

you could cut a diptube and move the beer off the trub.
I've been pondering fermenting 11/12 gallon batches in 3 corneys. airloc in the bev out till transfer time and then assemble with my one cut tube for all three.
