    Cincinnati Home Brewers....

There's a new brew pub (bar for now) in the NKY area. The Hebron Brewing Co. opened a few weeks ago in Hebron, KY and is a great place...I think. His tanks are being built and should be delivered in June, with brewing to commence shortly after. Great beer prices, sports bar kinda feel, and...

    Gotta share this....

I normally don't do this, but I am busting! I entered my first competition, and I have been brewing for just under a year and a half. I entered the AHA regional eastern division homebrew competition for judging on April 17th (I believe). I just returned home from a week of being on the road...

    Hop Harvest on Dirty Jobs

I know it's a repeat from last year, but they are replaying it on Discovery Channel at 8 pm eastern this evening (at least that's what the channel guide says). I never got to see it when it was first on and I figured that there's bound to be others. Enjoy!

    Oregon residents

I live in the big KY, so I have no say but....just saw on the news that there is a proposed law that would raise the tax on breweries by 1900%! What now costs the brewery (read the consumer) $2 and change per barrel, might soon cost $45 something! The lawmakers are open to negotiations on the...

Anyone had this? It's got a sweet finish that almost tastes like cream soda. What is this? At first I thought maybe high on the crystal malts, but there's something else there... I think. Anyone with some ideas? I looked on their web site, and there's nothing that I've seen. It's...

    Influence on homegrown hop AA?

Does anyone know....Is there anything that can be done with the soil, to manipulate the AA of homegrown hops? I know that there isn't going to be a 5% point increase/decrease, but has anyone seen/read/heard of anything like this? Manipulating the soil's ph, adding nutrients, etc...

    softened water

For those of you with water softeners.... or any other opinions/experts/educated guesses. Have any head problems with your beers? At least compared with those without? I have usually used half of my water from the store (spring water usually), and half from the pipes, with some additives just...

To the KY brewers out there...

So... I'm sitting in a hotel room, bored, and surfing the web when I get a wild hair and looked to see about the legalities of home brewing. Nice that I have already done a few batches already and just now looked for this info. Imagine my surprise when I notice that home brewing seems to be...

    Hello from Cinci

Hello all! I'm living in Cincinnati and have made a few batches of extract+specialty and just finished my first all grain last week....it's an Irish Red. The experience of the all-grain was fantastic, but know that I need to do some tweaking to my cooler mash tun. Only made a small mess...
