    MoreBeer Vs. AHBS

I absolutley prefer Austin Homebrew Supply. While I was deployed in the Gulf, Forrest allowed me to purchase a bunch of stuff and then he held it in his warehouse for a few months, yes months, until I got home from the deployment. I was able to buy stuff during a pretty darn good sale and get...

Looking for a mobile keg system for tailgating

Look at this month's BYO magazine. Beermuncher has a very nice article about his rolling keggerator he made to hold 3 kegs. It would probably be perfect for what you want. It is also probably here on the site but I am too tired to effectively use the search function....

    Whats cheaper?

I went straight to kegging and skipped the bottles. It is an expense, but I feel WELL worth it. I bought a 4-tap system that included a CO2 tank and 4 cornies, all the hoses, 4 shanks and 4 taps for abpout $500 shipped to me from www.kegconnection.com . Bottles are fine, if you like cleaning...

    Kegged too soon!

I am assuming that you are force carbing your kegs? I would leave it at 15psi, off of the gas connection and put it in a 70-ish degree room to sit and condition. I guess you can leave it in the keggorator and let it cold condition, but that will just take longer and leave you with the itch to...

Today marks my 5th year in the military....

Just wait. October 2nd marks 22 years for me. You go from 5 years to 20 years in the blink of an eye it seems. One suggestion I always give people is to NEVER stop working towards your degree and a possible commission. It does not matter if it takes you 4 years or 15 years, you will still...

    First Trimester Frustrations..

My ex-SWMBO was sick 24/7 for the entire pregnancy...until we figured out a couple of things..... 1. When she was hungry, she needed to eat. No matter what time it is or what the hunger craving was for, she had to eat. This led to me always having 2 containers of Orange Chicken in the...

    The Official WHMBP Thread

I must say that this is a fantastic program. One of the most valuable things I have learnd through all of this is just how good homebrew can be. Everything I have received as a gift has been fantastic. I have had the opportunity to sample about 15 different types of beer, wine, and cider...

Who are the Albuquerque area Brewers?

Bump... Nobody wants to admit they live in Albuquerque? Man, how are we going to get mass purchases made, how are we going to have one heck of a fine BBQ and sampling session?

Whoops! Bought Lager recipe but can't lager...

I can easily get temps to 50 degrees iin my garage in Albuquerque when the temps are in the upper 90s outside using my ghetto cooling tank. I am sure if you were more aggressive with the frozen bottles of water you could get the temps you need. Cake. Link...

    Garlic Wine

Posted this three times and have not seen it come up yet, so if there are dupes, could a Mod please delete the extra posts? I made this tonight. Of course did not follow OP's exact recipe..... boiled about 40 cloves of garlic with 1.5 pounds of sugar for about 20 minutes, added can of...

Labor Day Weekend 2008 - What's in Your Kettle???

Making Cake's Stout. Threw together a bunch of stuff I had on-hand with the intentions of making a nice dark beer. Coming along nicely. Last 15 minutes of the boil now.

1st batch, 1st AG in the works as you read this.

Bubbling along quite nicely this morning. I have a good fermentation going. The wort seems to be clearing up a bit as well. I guess I did have a good cold break. I used my hose to cool to about 90 degrees and then I had a tub of ice water and a recirculating pump set up to cool to about 75...

1st batch, 1st AG in the works as you read this.

Well.... I think everything went very well. I did not blow up, boil over, spill Wort, or hurt myself. All good things. Of course my efficiency was low, BeerSmith is telling me I am at 66% brewhouse efficiency. I estimated and adjusted my recipe for 70% so not too bad there. My OG was...

1st batch, 1st AG in the works as you read this.

Well, never being one to start slow, I jumped right into brewing by way of AG. I spent about 5 months reading this board and researching stuff on other sites, but decided to go all the way or go home. I made a version of BM's Centennial Blonde. A lot less hoppy because I have come to the...
