Adding flavourings to primary after a few weeks?

Just did a batch of light wheat that is bubbling away. I pulled a gallon and added raspberries and 1 tsp of extract, no plan on racking to a secondary....time will tell!

What’s the best practice to start drinking from a keg after it’s carbonated?

Having 1 keg under my belt...so to speak... and no other expertise, the sweet stout I did was great after 8 days. It did have a slight metallic taste at 3 & 5, guessing it was the CO2. It carbonated at 35*, 14psi and today is day 8. Pulled the CO2 off today because, IMHO...it's perfect. Of...

First kegged beer, too much head

Got it!! Nice chart...I saw it earlier but just spent some time with it. For this stout...50* at 13psi for a week...grabbing 12' of hose before it does a debut. What's the theory/idea behind the serving hose length, just not clicking with what little I know. Thanks!!!

    Force carbonating

First...JuanMoore, Thanks!! I used to be that generous with penmaking info. Are there different levels of carbonation for different styles and a possible link? I'm doing my first kegging Saturday of a milk stout. This will help!! Denverd1...you ask good questions! So here's my plan...5gal...

First kegged beer, too much head

I'm kegging a milk stout, both a first (kegging and the stout) for me so this is a great thread. 5 gal will be headed to a little fridge at 55*. I was planning on a pressure of 10psi to carbonate for about a week. My serving hose is 3' and all was bought today. Good, bad or indifferent?

    Keg Cleaning

To bring this back up again...how long do you let the keg sit and how long/quickly do you do this before kegging?

    Co2 tank in the fridge

I know it's an old thread...but just the answer I was looking for...thanks!!

    How long does a 5lb co2bottle last?

I just bought a keg system 3 hours ago! Using a 5lb tank, I'm told 10-15 5 gal batches at 10 psi. Kegging my first Saturday, a Milk Stout patterned after Great Basin's. Honey ale next.

    Recipe Critique - Honey Ale

Many many years ago...12-15, I had the same idea. I used Crystal 60...2lbs I think. Crystal had a lot of non-fermentable sugar so the sweet honey flavor really came out. If I remember right...and this is suspect...light malt extract, 6lb with Cascade, 2oz gave me what I was looking for. I'll be...

Secondary Fermentation - To Rack or Not to Rack

Knowing this an old post...it really helps. My first few 5 gal were secondary racks. I hear now that's a bad idea due to infection and oxidation risk. Mostly a good post and info...thanks!

Sorry to be the FNG, but....

Hey folks! Getting back into the mix after years out. Have a good friend here that does brew like I make pens...simple, easy and do it again. Thanks for letting me sit in, won't be much trouble...I know how forums can be.
