    Bottling Sours w/Brett

The Brett Old Ale has been on the Brett for about four months and is at 1.008. I'm not worried about it carbing. It will work, it will just be slow. The Flanders has been in secondary about a year. It might be a little more tough to wake up, but I tried it anyway. I'm not in a hurry, so if...

    Bottling Sours w/Brett

I'm looking to bottle my first sours, a Flanders Red w/ Roselare blend and an old ale w/ Brett. Can you just add the correct amount of dextrose to achieve your desired level of carbonation and allow the Brett and other bugs to slowly carbonate within the bottle, allowing for their ability to...

    Show us your Kegerator

It is a kenmore, upright, frost-free freezer. I'm not at home so I can't measure it, but it is the same size as the full-size, side-by-side refrigerator it replaced. It will hold six cornies if you remove the shelves from the door. The CO2 tank is a standard 5 pounder. HTH

    Autosiphon Holder Solution - revisited

I simply use a large binder clip, much sturdier than a wooden closepin and too big to fit into the neck of your carboy!

    Vintage Kelvinator freezer restoration

It's a 1952 model. That is just surface rust, and it comes off easily with some 120 grit :) Mine didn't have the smell because it didn't leak or have the condensation issues that I'm sure your chest freezer did. God knows my modern chest freezer sure builds up condensation. The fridge works...

    Vintage Kelvinator freezer restoration

I love this project:mug: I got a new seal for my '52 International Harvester refrigerator from antiqueappliances.com. They're nice folks and about the only place I could find information on the old stuff! Hopefully, I'll get around to repainting my refrigerator soon. Here are a few pics of my...

Got free bottles to give away? Post 'em here!

I have a least four cases of clean, de-labeled, 12-ouncers to give away in the Austin area. I'm always collecting more so shoot me a PM if you want 'em. If you want to give me a sixer of craft brew in exchange for my trouble that would much appreciated!

Traveling for work, every week... what's a brewer to do?

These boxes work great. That's what my beer of the month shipments came in. I plan on using these to take some local micros to England in a few months, British laws permitting of course :)

Who is brewing on the MLK holiday?

I'm off, and I'll be brewing either a Russian Imperial Stout, or a Citra blonde, or both :) To top it off I also have Tuesday off, too. In Texas we have a little know state holiday known as Confederate Heroes Day. Where I work it is classified as a skeleton crew day, meaning we have to have at...

    Upright Freezer for Kegerator?

Thanks Hermit and ChshreCat, I appreciate the fast responses:mug: As I think about it, it seems like a dumb question 'cause there would have to be hard lines running from the body of the freezer to the door for the refrigerant. That would make it difficult to open and close:drunk: I guess I was...
