Ss Brewtech 15 gallon Electric Kettle Conversion

This is the exact build I want to do. I was planning on getting a false bottom to keep the bag off the element but that doesn't look like its an issue for you? I'm also thinking of adding a 1.5TC port using the SS Brewtech compression fitting. Once I start ordering pieces I'll most likely have...

The only thing with the Unibrau is the max it will do is 5-6G.

Ready to Buy and Would Like Some Last-Minute Input

This is almost my exact situation in regards to must haves and budget. I've looked at the High Gravity but my main concern is the quality of kettle, its a very cheap Bayou Classic. I've also looked at the Unibrau by Brau Supply but the 240V version is currently out of stock. And finally I've...

Ss Brewtech Bucket - Pressurized transfers?

I've been looking at upgrading my fermenter from my current Big Mouth Bubbler and have been eyeing up the Ss Brewtech Brew Buckets. The Ss website says the Brew Bucket is capable of pressurized transfers (at 1-2psi). Has anyone tried this?

Witbier Blue Balls Belgian Wit (Blue Moon Clone)

Looking at brewing this for a party and had a few questions. - Could I go from grain to glass in 4 weeks? Most likely using US05. - In what quantity would I use fresh orange zest instead of dried peel? Thanks!

American Pale Ale Bee Cave Brewery Haus Pale Ale

Kegged on April 11th. There was a real harsh bitterness the first few weeks in the keg but that has completely mellowed. Cleared up really nicely with a bit of gelatin in the keg. bbcode for images

Blonde Ale Centennial Blonde (Simple 4% All Grain, 5 & 10 Gall)

Brewed this last weekend. Took a hydrometer reading last night and it came in at 1.008 (OG of 1.044). Sample tasted great. Going to leave it in primary for at least a few more days, cold crash and transfer to the keg with some gelatin. Can't wait till its cold and carbed! Having some people...

    Strong Bitter Common Room ESB

Making this my last brew of the season today. Gotta sneak one more in before the snow flies and brewing outdoors just isn't an option anymore. Made a start with 1968, man thats a thing of beauty watching those yeasties go to town.

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

Just approaching the end of the boil. Amazingly enough, NO STUCK SPARGE! I was so paranoid about it. I used about a lb of rice hulls, added first to the mash then grain and finally pumpkin. Had to stir the mash a bit to bring it down to temp, hit 156 and closed the lid. Opened it after an hour...

    Autumn Seasonal Beer Punkin' Ale

I'm hoping to brew this on Friday and have it ready for Halloween (so roughly 6 weeks out). Just had a question. First time using rice hulls, they just get mixed in with the grain bill? Pumpkin goes into the mash tun before or after grain? Thanks guys!

Leaky gas post with fresh kegged beer

I think I might have found the culprit. I have a feeling the pressure relief valve is a little wonky. Its almost like it was stuck open, that was what the hissing was I believe. I'm thinking I might replace the lid entirely. Next time I think I'll stick to new kegs lol

Leaky gas post with fresh kegged beer

Wouldnt that only be an issue when the QD is attached? Monitoring it closely now to see if I'm losing any gas. Can't hear hissing and no bubbles with a Starsan spray.

Leaky gas post with fresh kegged beer

So I went and refilled my CO2 tank, dont want these draining too often lol I took the gas post off, replaced the dip tube o-ring and lubed up that and the o-ring on the poppet. Hopefully this does it, otherwise I'll have to find a replacement poppet locally.

Leaky gas post with fresh kegged beer

Sounds as though its leaking from the top of the post. I sprayed some Starsan around the base and no bubbles, a little on the top. When the disconnect is place on I can still here it hissing, take it off and it still hisses.

Leaky gas post with fresh kegged beer

I can hear the gas coming from the post. I've tightened it. I wonder if its the poppet? Do I bleed the pressure before taking it apart?

Leaky gas post with fresh kegged beer

Hey guys, Looking for some advice. Just kegged a batch yesterday on a used ball lock that I thought was leak free. Woke up this morning to an empty CO2 and a hissing coming from the gas post. What's the best plan of attack? Hoping to salvage the beer. Should I bleed the pressure, take off the...

1st all grain attempt - Tap or RO water?

Going for a clone of Shock Top. 10lb grain bill with Belgian pilsner malt, flaked wheat and white wheat. A few days after I'm looking at doing a recipe similar to Bell's Two Hearted.

1st all grain attempt - Tap or RO water?

About to attempt my first all grain brew day. My last decision is to use RO water or regular tap water? Eventually I'll get more into the water chemistry but looking for opinions on where to start.
