First AG tomorrow....tell me whatcha think

Good point BBL. I thought about going the DIY route but the combination of laziness and a little extra moolah (tax return) steered me in the other direction. I just like the thought of getting everything I need in one shot. Luckily the price of the system I purchased went up about $40 right...

    Best yeast for stout

Not sure what a brewhouse stout or a bladder bag is but I like S-04 for stouts. Easy to handle (just rehydrate), quick fermenter and nice flavor profile.

First AG tomorrow....tell me whatcha think

After years of brewing with extract, it's time to move on to AG. Purchased the 10 gal. AGS from Northern Brewer and I'm gonna break it in tomorrow. I've been big into Belgian ales lately so I figured a relatively simple Saison recipe might be in order. Just looking for advice or recipe...

    Weissbier Simple Hefeweizen

If you can't find Carahell just substitute Crystal 10L. I just like using German ingredients in a Hefe as much as possible but C-10L is pretty much the same thing. You can also substitute other Noble hops. Heck, you can use a different yeast if you want to also. There's quite a few great Hefe...

    Centennial IPA

Centennial is uber-citrusy. Lemon zest is the first thing that comes to mind, with some subtle floral notes. Grapefruit is present but not as much as with Cascade hops. This is a great candidate for a single hopped IPA no doubt. If you like citrusy American IPA's you're going to love this beer.

    Centennial IPA

Ended up doing this: 9 lbs. light LME 1 lb. C40L 1 oz. Centennial- 60 min. 1 oz. Centennial- 20 min. 2 oz. Centennial- 5 min. 1 oz. Centennial- DH US05 This is a very good beer.

    AHS Magic Hop Dust

Exactly what I was thinking. Not really to save money, but as a fun experiment. I'd only use it for flavor/aroma and not bittering just to give myself a little control over the IBU's. Magic hop dust IPA has a nice ring to it.

    Safale S-33 Experience

Fermentation was strong but sputtered out at 68% attenuation, even after a month in primary. It's gonna be a bit on the sweet side but should be drinkable. We'll see about the flavor profile of this yeast if it can be detected over all the malt and hops.

    German Pils Saphir Pils

Partial boil will make it a bit darker than it should be, but it should end up just fine. The steeping temps are no biggy as long as you keep it below 170. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Um...let's see...Sam Adams IPA, Redhook ESB, Full Sail Amber, Homebrewed brown ale and homebrewed Chinook IPA. :drunk:

Yep, just throw them in during the last week of secondary.

    Safale S-33 Experience

Just brewed an IIPA today and pitched s33. Seems like an odd choice for this style but it's what I had. Hopefully one rehydrated packet is sufficient for an OG of 1.092. We'll see.

    Oops I forgot the Malodextrin

You could boil it and add at bottling/kegging. It's non-fermentable so this would work, or just forget about it because you've already strayed from the original recipe anyway.

    What are you drinking now?

Only is spirit ;) Right now I'm drinking coffee and water in an attempt to recover from all the Stone IPA and Manny's I had last night. :drunk:

    Weissbier Simple Hefeweizen

Your gravity is pretty much spot on. A point or two here and there really won't make much of a difference. The darker color is standard for partial boils, although the late addition would have helped a bit. No worries, it should end up being a very drinkable beer. Let me know how it is after...
