A stupid question about co2 and kegging

I keep the CO2 on all the time. If your system is balanced and leak-free, I would recommend the same. Turning the CO2 on and off all the time is a PITA and might affect your carb level.

The aerogarden works well. I bought my wife one a while ago and she loves it.

    Kegged beer not carbing.

you have the gas in line hooked to the gas in ball lock right? If you're carbing to the liquid out line, this might be the problem.

10 gallon cylindrical Rubbermaid cooler with strainer bag?

You might be onto something, but one problem that I can think of is you might have a some stuck sparge issues with that setup. If you could raise the bag slightly while sparging, that might solve that problem though. Give it a shot!

    Picking a Freezer

does it have to be a freezer? If you only need to hold 2 kegs, I'd go with the Sanyo 4912.

    Omaha Steaks

The steaks were good, but the sole and potatoes were just ok. Still, with the coupon it is a decent deal. I'm pretty spoiled for food here in the Bay area though.

    Earth Hour

If you're lazy like me, and you really want to save energy and $, try some of these: Smart Strip Power Strips - SmartHomeUSA.com I just got one, so I can't attest to the $ savings yet, but it is an easy step that should work great to cut out all the "phantom loads" I have from my electronics...

    15 Gallon SMaSH

...and done. 5g bubbling away now. Went with all vienna and northern brewer. Hopefully it won't be too malty. Mashed low at 150. Screwed up temps, and batch sparged very low (~162!), so efficiency was not good (68%!). Hopefully that won't effect the taste though. We'll see. thanks for...

    15 Gallon SMaSH

update? I'll be following your basic Vienna smash recipe this weekend, but for 5g. Where would this fit in the BJCP? ESB? Are you entering this in the 09 World Cup of Beer??

Any yerba mate drinkers out there?

It definitely does produce a buzz, but I don't get jittery on mate like I do after a few coffees. Also, if you used teabags, it really wasn't a true mate. Traditionally, you add small amounts of hot water directly into the yerba mate, and filter it through the bombilla (straw). The teabag...

Any yerba mate drinkers out there?

Definitely. I just got back from 3 weeks in Argentina, and it seemed like everyone there had a mate and a thermos of water with them at all times. The first few mates taste a lot like hot dirty water, but it grows on you. Add lots of sugar for your first try. Mateine produces a nice "buzz"...
